One of the things I've always looked for is manipulation skills. Can you force the opposing team in small areas, to react to you? Benson is one of the best at it. Get the defender to react and attack the space or area you created. Couple his hands with his rush patterns, they are inside driven and diverse. Benson isn't a perfect prospect but he does things that cannot be taught and what he needs to improve (burst, strength, shot) are all areas that a skills and strength team can work on. Benson should have gone top 6, top 8 at worst. He's probably better than every forward taken in the 2022 draft. We got him at 13, it's a coup.

We did. All the sour grapes around here are ppl who either believe Pronman, who sucks, or spent their time on Michkov hype and highlights. No there is not. Benson has only 3 whl seasons.

Bedard and Michkov really overshadowed a lot of others. I find it interesting that many ppl wanted Michkov and he's listed at 5'10" but Benson is somehow deficient. I love Benson. I should have mocked him to Buffalo when I did mine but I believed all the Wood hype. I hope Benson gets taller because he's so good that any additional physical help will only push him higher. The WHL will be fun to watch this year.

Hmm... I don't think I can disagree. Logan Cooley is .5 inches taller and he's the only one I'd currently rank near Benson.

Yes. His 1 dimensional game is a massive issue and blaming the defense when olofsson can't even clear the zone is wrong. Olofsson needs to go. Rousek is a perfectly suitable replacement for VO. There's no chance in hell I want olofsson in the top 9.

No interest in keeping the 1 dimensional olofsson. Sign a ufa but it's time to move on from olofsson. He's 27, if he hasn't figured out how to play at this point he isn't going to.

The size take here is atrocious and old. Large goalies have holes too and typically lack quickness because you're moving more human around. 6'1" is a fine size.

Yup and if Benson was 5'11" he would have been drafted just after Will Smith.

The twitter sphere is telling me this kid has a lot of upside and really showed well for the Germans at the U18. A lot of the twitter scouts like his chances so... there's that. Other than that, I got nothing.

"The trades you don't make..." Wahlberg is interesting because the more you find to watch the more you see the skill but... really needs some development love. Raw and skilled with a lot of upside, should be interesting to see how he progresses this upcoming year. I think he is 3 years away from the NHL. 1 in Sweden, 2 in the AHL.
