  2. Tappara issues statement that makes it appear as though Helenius will be playing in NA this season. They wished him good luck. I would count on Helenius then opening the year in Rochester.
  3. Being critical of a GM who's failings are self evident doesn't make anyone a troll, ftr. Whether or not that's your point with the opening sentence, I just wanted add that in. We should be critical of a guy who for 4 years couldn't get this team to the playoffs.
  4. Correct, Benson is not AHL eligible. Tbh, I just don't believe a scenario exists where Benson isn't better than last year. If he struggles, you bench him for Krebs or Kulich and Benson figures his ***** out at practice.
  5. No you don't. Again, you don't clear a spot in your NHL roster for an 18yr old who is playing well in the AHL. Of course I think Helenius will probably start slow in the AHL and will take a couple months to adjust anyways but that doesn't mean that if he is a ppg player in the AHL you go "oh man, gotta find a spot for him, sorry McLeod or idk Benson or whatever, we are going to sit you for this kid". No, he simply stays in the AHL and continues to work.
  6. Only thing I want to add here is the Sabres do not need to "figure something out" because the answer is simple, if he is lighting up the AHL, leave him the AHL until injury requires him. Sabres shouldn't open a spot in their NHL lineup for an 18yr. That's what teams planning to miss the playoffs and continue building do. He isn't and he won't be.

  9. This is the guy Helenius would need to be better than because Tage and Cozens aren't sitting. I don't think it even remotely likely Helenius can be better than this at 18. At 22, sure but not at 18 playing for the first time the NA style/ system
  10. Quinn has 2 NHL seasons, the first he played 75 games.
  11. He's an exceedingly good defensive forward with speed. He's also not 18 which gives him a major advantage. I love Helenius, He's a good kid. He's not Benson though.
  12. Helenius is going to have to adapt to NA ice and pace. Benson did not. Further, which of McLeod, Cozens, Thompson, or Lafferty are your benching for Helenius? Granted, playing an 18yr old rookie on the 4th line you just deliberately created would be dumb so really just McLeod, Cozens, Thompson, who's Helenius getting in over? That also ignored having to jump Kulich.

  15. Just read this story and it is total BS why they fired him. Half a dozen NHL reporters tweet the picks before they are announced. I knew we were getting Benson almost a full minute before the announcement because of twitter. The league was worried it could be used for betting? BS, no they weren't because like all lines they close at certain times because they aren't dumb enough to leave them open until something happens in real life. Being lied to is the worst.

My supervisors have no understanding of what it takes to do this thing but they want it done anyways even though no one is working on said thing anymore because they disbanded the team that would handle it. I want to quit, I hate coming to work now because it is just stupid, easily avoidable problems 1 after the other. When I try to bring up issues, I am shoved to the side for the coworker who just says yes all the time and delivers subpar work. Once a place makes it clear you are not valued, it is time to consider other options.
  17. Only if Helenius ends up in Rochester. He won't make the team straight up at center with Tage, Cozens, McLeod, and Rafferty down the spine so he will need an injury call-up. I would prefer he either spend the year in Rochester or go back to Liiga for 1 more season.

  19. Yup. This also what ended the Roman Republic. It was better for your opponent to appear to do nothing than it was to even pass common sense laws. Kamala has a long way to go to win the presidency. Even if she does, she has further to go to be an effective president. Still, her interviews the last week have been very good.

  21. I don't see them as having unity. That is why they talked about Ziemer the way they did. He was on a tier and there was a big drop down to the next guy on the list. Kinda like how Benson was on a tier and they seemed surprised to get him but it worked out. In fact the Benson comment makes me think they were very aware of the size issue and had debates about him but Forton or whoever said "it worked out" was referring to how setting the list and following it does work out in the end. There is also a comment by Adams about Helenius being a center and they clearly bumped him above someone else due to that. My guess, it was Nygard.
  22. There's clearly debates over the list. Honestly to suggest they all just agree seems bonkers.
  23. It's not clear to me if that was the trade straight up. Almost sounded like part of something slightly larger but maybe not. Glad that trade didn't happen though.
  24. Aube-Kubel mentioned accountability and conditioning as two things of importance. Lafferty also brought up accountability. Lindy specifically talked about bumping players. That's a good segment, he wants everyone bumping and blocking.
