Carolina defers part of Jarvis salary, are the flood gates open?

Owen Power was not a dominant or elite player in college. He was very good, yes. But y'all are talking about him like he was some super star, he wasn't. He was a good defender with good production.

Puckpedia has the contract listed at 7.5 million per season to 2032 -
NHL teams don't understand the position in terms of drafting. They look for 6'4" + guys and then use the eye test to draft the "best" one.
-
EP loves Leenders and basically called him the steel of the draft.

Tried to say what he was at draft time and was ridiculed and told I was wrong etc... Owen Power is almost exactly the player I thought. He's a solid #2/3 defender and shouldn't have been the 1st overall pick. Really hope he takes a big step this year and proves me wrong.

I haven't honestly seen enough of Wahlberg. I think he has been a bit overhyped.

"Skates good for his size" = "Straight line fast and doesn't trip over their own feet"
-
Pronman doesn't believe in small players at any position. It is why Benson will be downgraded by him forever and why Levi will too. Pronman would rank a 6'5" talentless booger that had below average skating but could skate fast in a straight line higher than any sub 6' forward with elite skills but average skating. He's so size bias it is getting ridiculous.

EP puts Buffalo at #16 for prospect pools but they graduated out Benson and Levi. Owen Power is also not listed because they are only looking at prospects and not what pronman did which is U23. https://eprinkside.com/2024/08/28/ep-rinkside-2024-nhl-prospect-pool-rankings-no-16-ranked-buffalo-sabres Helenius Kulich Östlund Rosen Kleber Leenders (Levi is not eligible for this list BTW) Ziemer McCarthy Komarov Neuchev Strbak Osburn Wahlberg Novikov Ratzlaff Marjala Leinonen (I am shocked. Shocked! Well not that shocked) Poltapov

It is a comparison of Östlund v. Helenius' seasons

I trust EPs take on Benson far more than Pronman. As for Helenius, I actually think there's a chance he's better on NA ice after an adjustment period. His issue at first will be pace, Liiga is slower in how they attack. Östlund is very interesting because his biggest issue is weight/ strength so his camp weigh is will be watched. Novikov needs better feet and he's got a real chance of being a shutdown NHL defender. As for Levi, my biggest issue is Pronman questions his skating which Biron has raved about. Idk what his ceiling is but he's got the potential to be Saros. I hope he sees about 35 or so AHL games and about 25 NHL games this year. Next year they can do a 48/34 split or so between upl and Levi.

I would guess that they are something in-between last year and 2022. It is why we sit so precariously on the bubble. To quote another movie, "sometimes people deserve to have their faith rewarded."

Couple times a year. Probably at Helinka, WJC18, WJC20, and Worlds

No

No we are not. Stop letting someone else frame this as fans being impatient. The GM has failed for 4 years to put together a playoff roster due to his own incompetence, blind faith, and mild handcuff from the owner. Demanding better is not impatience and the poster who suggested otherwise is IMPO rediculous. "13 years guys but be patient" NSFW

Also, LMFAO. Zach Benson is better than Helenius right now, just stop Corey. "His size and lack of explosive speed are the knocks on him, which is why, despite all his talent and compete, some scouts still wonder about his long-term upside. I see a potential top-six forward but I’d stop short of calling him a future star." Yes, those scouts are named Snorey Cronman. Zach Benson has something really important that Corey is ignoring. He alludes to it when he talks briefly about Benson "mak(ing) a lot of high-end plays with the puck through defenders and to teammates" but doesn't grasp the underlying skill being displayed. Benson is a master manipulator that will only get better with time and strength. I have rarely watched a player who is so excellent and threading the triangle while getting a defender to move out of the lane he wants. On top of that Benson is elite at taking pucks from the wall to the center because of this manipulation ability. I love Zach Benson a lot and I really hope he takes a massive step up this year because he's a 5'10" ball of hate with the skills and brains to Marchand.

Corey Pronman, size biases extraordinaire. Tij Iginla has no comment on his size in Corey's write up. The 6' 192lb winger gets a glowing review in fact but Konsta "Helenius isn’t a big center, but he gives strong efforts off the puck, doesn’t shy from going to the net and has an edge to his game. Inside the NHL, the debate is whether he’s a good or a special 5-11 forward." Two size references for the kid who is 5'11" 190lbs... if that 1" and 2lbs really matters that much, call me Shirley and build me a temple.
