I think we are starting to see the shine start to fade for most of the new guys. Murray uses his size, but can't keep up. Quinn's got great hockey sense but can't fight through Lukkonnen looks the part but he's letting pucks go through him. Weissbach's got the flash but he's not doing much away from the puck Dell, Hagg, Pysyk and Butcher look like their reputations. Peterka's been the best of the lot but that's two straight games he's flashed, then disappeared for large chunks. And from the returnees with promise, Bryson seems to have regressed, Cozens looks passive, and Tage, well, he Taged. On the bright side, Asplund seems to have come back strong and R2 seems to have taken a positive step - centre seems to fit him. Let's hope Joker, Casey and Dahlin show some progress as well tomorrow.

Quinn’s got a long way to go, but what I like is that he understands space.

Can’t keep up. Was in the centre of the action at prospect camp, and has slipped further out of it every game. He’s doing fine in traffic but I’m not sure he’s going to get there in time against the higher competition.

If UPL and R2 look this good when the real pucks start flying, this season just got a lot more interesting.

Thompson made some good disruptions with that long stick, I thought. Agree on Quinn. Looks like a boy out there. Peterka is putting himself in the roster conversation. And R2 was our best player. Dude playing like he means it.

Murray could because he's more skilled, but Hayden looked more physical and confident. From what I saw right now, Hayden is a better fit as 4th-line banger.

This is the accepted situation, and I agree it makes sense, but has it ever actually been confirmed? I have never seen it out of the mouths of any of the parties involved, or reported as anything or than speculation.
