Interesting proposition. Have Facebook and Twitter rendered traditional sports media like the news moot? WGR, MSG, NBCSports, these outlets provide an income stream to the sabres. The News provides nothing more than exposure, and if the organization decides that exposure to be net negative, why would they do anything to foster the relationship?

The riots are causing an immense amount collateral damage. Any death will be completely unjust, IMO, and I hope it is avoided. But leadership and coherent political strategy are not prerequisites to make the actions logical. They are prerequisite to achieving end results, and I think this will continue to be problem moving from city to city until those results are identified and achieved. I'll make an opening proposal: Law enforcement agencies should never be able to receive the funds from their actions. There should not be a financial incentive to ticket and arrest citizens. The state should only utilize it's hegemony in the pursuit of justice and peace for their own ends, and not to balance to books. In otherwords, rather than simply outlawing arrest quotas, lets make them functionally useless to police departments.

The last time there was actual nation wide reform of police tactics and the method by which police were investigated for brutality was a direct result of nation wide massively violent riots resulting from a complete lack of Justice for Rodney King. In Cincinnati in 2001 race riots resulted in the Cincinnati police department being removed from majority black neighborhoods and replaced by the Hamilton County sheriffs dept. This is ugly and tragic and awful, but it works.

That the idea should be considered is dead serious. The conclusion of that consideration may result in "how can people be so stupid" but it should at least be considered. How many funerals for people killed by cops before everyone starts completely ignoring the law and order that these cops represent? Have we reached that number? I think it's a legit consideration.

Assuming you are talking about Baltimore, you should at least consider that these people are not stupid and that what is happening is the completely logical best course of action.

I think that's just fine, and if that's how it rolls out in October, I'd be totally cool with that. If I can give another youngish guy with NHL experience a chance in the meantime, and it only costs me a <3rd line prospect or/and a later than 3rd round pick, I'm game. I agree that right now, goalies just kind of happen.

ACA might be a muddled mess of a compromise, but the items surrounding women's health are an enormous positive that would not have occurred under any previous president's leadership. The new Carbon rules to take effect this summer are enormous. The Immigration executive action is huge. That's a legislative accomplishment in year 1 that is essentially chiseled in stone now, and 4 executive actions that can be partially or completely reversed in January of 2017. His problem was his party fell apart under his watch, largely as a result of his childish inability to manage PR crises.

I have not seen the film, but I am aware of D'Souza's previous work, therefore could not view the piece from a neutral standpoint, not colored by my agreements and disagreements with his publicly espoused worldview. I am intrigued to see the discussion here.
