Hodgson, Ennis, Pysyk, Sekera, and Weber learning how to win is a big deal. So is testing and maturing Ott and Vanek's leadership of this team. But yes, it would be better if Armia were here (he still could be if we make it) and we still have one call-up left if we want to bring Larsson up. And I'll take confidence and leadership wherever I can get it, and it's not from the golf course in May.
Well, that group never made it while they were under 25. they learned how to lose from 7/1/07 - 10/2/09, then once they put a winner together, the defense was dismantled the following off-season (I think the loss of 5 and 10 was almost as devastating to the way the team was winning as the loss of 23 and 36). There was never a group of youngsters that willed the team to victory like we are seeing right now.
My main point is that this is significantly better than the difference between a 1.1% chance at a top pick and a 4.2% chance at a top pick.
