I only read to the words "specific project", but this can't actually be your complaint. Think about it for a while, and come up with something better.

Hodgson, Ennis, Pysyk, Sekera, and Weber learning how to win is a big deal. So is testing and maturing Ott and Vanek's leadership of this team. But yes, it would be better if Armia were here (he still could be if we make it) and we still have one call-up left if we want to bring Larsson up. And I'll take confidence and leadership wherever I can get it, and it's not from the golf course in May. Well, that group never made it while they were under 25. they learned how to lose from 7/1/07 - 10/2/09, then once they put a winner together, the defense was dismantled the following off-season (I think the loss of 5 and 10 was almost as devastating to the way the team was winning as the loss of 23 and 36). There was never a group of youngsters that willed the team to victory like we are seeing right now. My main point is that this is significantly better than the difference between a 1.1% chance at a top pick and a 4.2% chance at a top pick.

Squeaking in with this roster of AHLers would mean something significantly different than the defending NE Division Champs squeaking in and getting knocked out in the first round. This would mean loads for the development of our youngsters, specifically in confidence and learning how to win.

Completely agree on year to year team momentum. I'm looking more at winning though games to reach the playoffs with a young roster gives the individuals confidence as they continue to grow.

It's not about making the playoffs just for thr sake of more games. If this roster can make this push. Even if they lost in six to the pens, they will come into next season with a confidence that will only serve to accelerate their development and shorten the rebuild. I like those odds way better than a 4% improvement in the odds of getting the top pick.

No we don't, we're 1-1 in late season pushes. We don't know howe this ends.
