It's just a hope and a wish. I certainly ain't gonna do it :) I really do like the MLB function of empowering any umpire to hold the players on the field of play even if they just think there 'might' be a review, and not allowing the other players to leave the benches. Even if there is no bias in which calls get reviewed due to celebrations, etc., it leaves a heck of a lot less confusion for the spectators (especially those reviewing the video on youtube at work with the sound off :bag: )

Readers Other than Taro: at :33 seconds the goal is scored at :49 you will see the Blues Goalie leave the ice at :55 you will see the entire Islanders Lineup congratulating each other on the ice at 1:10 the hub-bub on the ice is acknowledged and the players begin to return to their benches. Taro: You are right. The refs controlled the ice the entire time. There was no confusion. My Apologies. ;)

In thinking more like a potential review on a third out in baseball where they actively hold the players on the field rather than heading to the dugout. Not reporters and family. The losing players start to leave immediately after the goal and the winners storm the ice. This happens I. Every overtime from October to June.

I wish for someone to tabulate, for 1994-1999, the total % of regulation goals reviewed/overturned vs. the total % of overtime goals reviewed/overturned. I have a hypothesis that Overtime Goals just simply weren't reviewed as often. I have a corollary to that hypothesis, that those goals weren't reviewed as often because the NHL did not have a pre-emptive process in place to control the ice while the goals were reviewed.

Ghana has to win by 2 to get in over us if we lose by 1. Portugal has to win by 5 to get in over us if we lose by 1. Lots of ways in.

I expect a photo posted of the destruction. No one needs to know but us.

Black Stars up 2-1 on the germans!! That would be HUGE for the US getting out of group play.

Prediction time: What trades will occur on or before the draft?
LastPommerFan replied to nfreeman's topic in The Aud Club
If TM hands the power over what could be more than 10% of our cap, even for a year, to another team, the internet will have him frozen below the center ice circle before game one next season. -

If we trade hodgson, and I'm not opposed, we're going to absolutely have to sign a vet center out of FA, or none of these young kids is going to get to touch the puck enough to learn hockey. Or.................. we could NOT sign a center, and just count on McDavid playing #1 pivot in 15-16. Which is exactly why he won't be traded, so we can Pronger him into his retirement with no cap hit. Keeping him in house or buying him out are the only realistic options. -
CONCACAF FTW!!!

The "choose as many as you'd like" function on the third question does not seem to be functioning properly. -
Have any of you heard about "ABLE Act" (S. 313/H.R.647)? Essentially it creates a tax advantage savings account to help pay for all the care involved with raising a special needs child and transitioning them into adulthood. It's very similar to a Health Saving Account in that the money goes in tax free and as long as it is spent on a qualified expense, it comes out tax free. The cool part is it expands the "qualified expense" list to include things like occupational therapy, assistance devices, and even rent. My wife and I were having a rather odd discussion this morning about what we can do now to help plan for the adult needs of our 2-year-old, and I thought it would be awesome if there was a way to save for any help he might need in the future so it doesn't completely fall on his brothers and their families should he not be able to live independently (I have no idea where Ollie will land on this, he might be able to get a job and integrate into society just fine, or he might not, kids like him can land anywhere). Then I did a quick google search and found this bill. It has 73 co-sponsors in the Senate and 363 in the house. That's over 75% of congress! Oddly, or not so oddly, it's been stuck in committee for 2 years. It seems like such a easy bi-partisan win, and with Autism rates on the rise, it could really help avoid a problem when the current generation of kids being diagnosed has to survive on their own. I can't figure out why it won't move. Link to the House Bill: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c113:H.R.647: Link to the Senate Bill: http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?c113:S.313: Thoughts? do any of you other parents of kids with special needs have discussions like the one my wife and I had this morning? What actions are you taking to plan for that (potential) future?

Not one of the European countries playing in this world cup who accepted a bailout during the Eurozone Crisis has won a match. Greece, Portugal, and Spain are a combine 0-4 with a -13 goal differential. Spain scoring the lone goal. This was all a condition of the bailout.

I also lost my last grandparent at age 22. Fortunately, that is also when I got married so I adopted 6 new grandparents and 1 great-grandparent. We still have 4 of the grandparents and just lost great-grandma last year. We have this amazing photo of my oldest son at age 2 with his mom, grandma, great grandma, and great great grandma at her farm outside Knoxville.

Speak for yourself. I have 2 mothers-in-law.

Purists will cringe, but ODI cricket with limited overs could catch on here as a sport.

Absolutely, since I didn't quote a previous post, I should clarify why I was making the statement. I would have put him on the roster, but there is no connection between his absence and Altidore's injury.
