  1. Östlund traded? Or just doesn't challenge for a spot in this timeframe?
  2. Nicolas Savoie? That would be the real sleeper pick.
  3. This is great. Just checked out their website for other videos. The dude who plays guitar (and also piano? Same guy?) seems super talented. The best Beatles cover band I ever saw was called the Silver Beats. Four Japanese guys. They were the house band for a Beatles bar called The Cavern Club in Roppongi in Tokyo. Sadly the bar has long since closed and I am unaware they still play together.
  4. I’m willing to bet that Diggs and Allen and the Bills in general are not on the list of top 100 things Dahlin gives a rats ass about in terms of his next contract. I can’t comprehend how you’re combining these things into one narrative.
  5. Came here to say the exact same thing! Thank you @dudacek!
  6. Not my genre but I applaud the creative process at work here...excellent!
  7. He had 68 points in 70 games in Rochester during the regular season. Given how relatively slowly he started, by the back half of that season he was one of the higher scorers in the AHL. Then had 12 points in 10 playoff games. That said, I think your expectation for him is reasonable but I’d call it his floor. 60-70 points is also possible.
  8. I think they tried that quick food place "The Healthy Scratch" for a while that was in Harbor Center. Terrible name for a place associated with food. I went in there once and looked at the menu and walked out. Looked terrible and it didn't last too long. I am not aware of any others.
  9. No way to know of course, but my gut says this is the core of it. They had grand ambitions. All the peripheral stuff beyond the Sabres and Bills were also going to be key components of the family business empire. It was well intentioned hubris, and certainly within the rights of billionaires to pursue. But reality eventually hits billionaires, too. (1) Making money in music, hotels, food, and fashion is hard. Barriers to entry are low = outsized profits are hard to come by. Outsized profits are what drives enterprise value. Unless lightning struck, these enterprises were always destined to be sidenotes next to the sports entities work north of $600M and $4B. (2) The ambitious, younger of the two owners is no longer the same person due to medical reasons. The remaining functional owner is 72. He needs to take care of his wife, enjoy his family, and focus on the two sports franchises he owns. So why does he need PSE anymore? Now what will happen to the Sabres or Bills is another story entirely and I don't think this announcement leads to anything other than speculation well beyond even my random musings here.
  10. He takes some risks on D and takes too many dumb penalties. That said...to see him in-person you can understand why he's viewed by some as the number one defenseman simply due to his explosiveness on the attack. Not unlike his teammate McKinnon, when he gets the puck it's just electric when he takes it up ice. The other team is immediately on their heels so to speak, knowing they can't stop this guy 1 on 1. High quality shot chances occur with frequency. It's almost McDavid level.
  11. Listened to the show on SiriusXM NHL channel this early evening and they spent a good bit of time on RJ and had Pete Weber as a guest, which was great.
  12. I know what you mean. Last time it happened to me was Johnny Cash. Rick is at that level.
  13. Glad to see she's supporting herself financially. Seriously though, great achievements and more to come I'm sure.
  14. There has never been any dispute that UAP’s exist. The question is whether any of them are aliens. Some of them may be aliens. But Grusch’s testimony doesn’t prove anything. It’s second hand, from a questionable source, without corroboration or physical evidence. My belief is that, in general, the government is so incompetent that the idea of multi-decade massive cover-ups of the largest ‘story’ in human history, especially in this day and age, is incomprehensible. That said, I’m not opposed or in opposition to the possibility that aliens have already, or will make contact with us. But my guess is we’ll not fare well in such an encounter as their technological superiority will be overwhelming, given that they apparently achieved interstellar travel.
  15. Canandaigua...beautiful lake, nice restaurant options, hiking trails, maybe rent a boat, check out Sonnenberg Gardens.
  16. Not saying it can't take 10 years...just saying it doesn't have to.
  17. It's only because we're Sabres fans that we believe it takes a decade to rebuild.
  18. Went to Tedeschi Trucks Friday and Saturday at Red Rocks. Just amazing both times. 17-18 songs per night, no songs the same between the two nights. I looked on Setlist.fm and on their summer tour they played about 85 different songs. Best moment for me was on Saturday they played the Allman Brothers "Dreams" and the sky in the distance (maybe 30 miles to the East) had a cloud lightning show going on.... just awesome from the 40th row where I could see it framed up right above the stage. Also, Susan Tedeschi is a total blues rock goddess.
  19. I might be, I have always liked Tarasenko and he has had some injuries. But I would go for the upside and experience on a 1-year bet. It was only the season before last that he put up 34g and 48a in 75 games, his 6th season over 30 goals. He'll turn 32 this season which isn't by any means young, but guys with elite talent like Tarasenko can often be productive well into their 30's. And a guy who scored between 33 and 40 goals every year for 5 seasons (2014-15 through 2018-19) is, or was, elite. Maybe Olofsson will score more this year, but his best goal scoring season last year at 28 would be Tarasenko's 7th best season, and unlike VO: He's no Selke contender but I believe Tarasenko plays something that resembles defense He has 44 goals in 97 NHL playoff games...something that might be nice to have on the team come next Spring Doesn't matter...KA isn't going to make a move like this anyway.
  20. At $5M for 1 year I’d have liked to see Tarasenko replace Quinn while he’s out and GMKA could have offered a team to 4th round pick to take VO off the roster. So there would effectively be zero incremental cap hit but the team would be upgraded this season.
