It will be really interesting to see what our building looks like if they look like crap tonight. I think my hopelessness with this roster is that there is ZERO chance they finish ahead of Toronto, Boston or Tampa. That leaves them fighting for a Wild Card and every team in the Eastern conference got better (some, WAY better) besides Ottawa and Columbus. I predict 14th in the conference ahead of those two teams.

Wouldn't it be great if they actually looked like an NHL offense right off the bat and didn't come back to Buffalo on Saturday night to a dead building after 1 period of play. Yup, i can honestly say i have never been less excited about opening night.

I used to love the buffalo Toronto games but talk about a trip to the dentist....ugh, it's like 2 different leagues now.

With the Bills off to such a strong start, I don't think I have ever been less excited about a Sabres opener in the last 8 years. I don't know if it's because the Bills actually have a shot this year, or if it's the fact that this Sabres team looks to be total garbage again. How is it that no mater how many changes are made on this team, they keep going backwards? I really do think that they are going to have fewer points than last year and there is no possible way Botteril can survive that.....none. I think it would be a major accomplishment if this season wasn't buried by mid January. I really hope I am way off on this one......

Man, this team is going to be brutal this year unless one of our goaltenders turns into a superstar. I am about as excited about this year as I was during the tank years. Oh wait, we are still in those years, I forgot.

So let me get this straight, many people were against trading risto for laine straight up but now there is a rumor that it is risto plus a player plus two first-round draft picks?? If this was to actually happen, I would be 95% sure I would give up my season tickets once and for all

Cozens AND Mitts should spend the entire year in Rochester. I still don't think Mitts is remotely close to making this team better at Center.

Thinking this could be a bottom 5 team in the league has nothing to do with preseason for me. The defense could be pretty good but outside of that, goaltending and forwards look atrocious.

Serious question...does anyone actually think this team is going to be anywhere near 8th place come April? I would be totally shocked if Buffalo is not picking top 8 in the draft next year. I really don't expect that to happen in the 2020/21 season, but this year, this is a closer to a bottom 5 team in the NHL.

I would be shocked if the Bills did not have meaningful games all through December. And if the Sabres season turns out the way I think, that means only about 3 months of depressing Buffalo sports this season.
