Practice Streamed Live Today @ 10:30 AM (3/14/13)
obstructedorangeseats replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Archive
http://video.sabres.nhl.com/videocenter/console?catid=666 ^ The irony isn't lost that the link contains 666. #doomed :P -
I'm more familiar with baseball, but in that sport it seems like NTC's are designed to extract more money from the larger market teams (i.e. the New Yorks, Bostons, Los Angeles', etc.) and in reality the player has no real opposition to being moved there. I'm wondering if it is a similar practice in hockey?

In the case of watching the Sabres, it sounds like he's living up to his name of "man's best friend." :D -
I feel like we should start declining penalties. We do better shorthanded.
-
Same. When Shanahan began the whole video explanations idea, I was very much in favor of it because I thought it would help keep players/fans honest about what was or was not fair play. But I'm not sure it's worked out that way.

Many thanks! Always look forward to these. Great work :)

New York's premiere artisan cheese! The mold is more alive than the Sabres at this point. -
The Matt Ellis of our D?

Are the sabres still worth watching?

^ This. I'll still be watching, but it will probably be on in the background rather than something I'm dedicating my time to. -

It doesn't hurt to imagine it was Lucic, even if we'll never know. -

Awesome! Thanks! -
I hope Myers can return to his Calder form, because he could be an anchor for our defense for years to come. But as more time passes I grow skeptical that could ever happen. As you say, 29 other teams would love to have him. We'd love to have a #1 scoring center. I'd be interested to see what the Sabres could net for Myers.

I think we can all agree that even a slightly diminished RJ is vastly superior to the stylings of Kevin Sylvester. :death: -

Grigorenko: Should he stay or should he go?
obstructedorangeseats replied to thewookie1's topic in Archive
Agreed, if we're shaking up the lines anyway, I'd be interested to see Grigsy (c'mon, you know it's inevitable) centering Stafford and Foligno. Even if just for his last game of the 'tryout'.- 431 replies

I think both teams can be winners with this trade. We desperately needed a young center with #1 potential. They needed a power forward with skills and toughness. If things continue on the trajectory of the first couple of games, I'd be happy with the trade.

Clearly you've never seen his macaroni art anthology. :P

I call shenanigans (Shanahanigans?), at least on the 10 year part. Couldn't they easily frontload, say, a 4 or 5 year deal and not give him what amounts to a legacy contract?

It's about to set sail!

MSG did a really cool "live" reairing of the infamous Canadiens-Rangers game where Boom Boom Geoffrion went batshit and used his stick as a weapon. It was pretty cool. I'd love to see some sort of retrospective on classic games with some Sabres alumni commenting on the games. Would seem to be right up Pegula's alley.
