Why? An NHL team uses an arena 41 days out of the year, with a max of 57 days if they win the cup, every series goes seven games, and they are the home team all four rounds. Does the arena stay dark the other 300+ days of the year? No. It's filled with concerts, fairs, expos, final fours, whatever else can be lured to the city. An arena brings in jobs and money to the city. If taxpayers don't want to foot the bill for something that will bring in jobs, money, entertainment, a sense of community pride....that's cool. But don't piss and moan when your team leaves for Kansas City, Vegas, Seattle, Quebec....you get the idea. All taxpayers want an arena that benefits thier community, few want to help fund it.

My pay for November of 6270.74 was taxed 7.46% (federal, FICA, social security) Come tax time I take standard deductions, everything I'm allowed but nothing unusual.

I make a little over 70K a year. If my taxes were raised to 13%, $760 per month, that would cripple me financially. If it was a gradual raise that aligned with my annual raise I could live with it, but to just jump to 13% would really hurt.

I had XM for a couple years, cancelled it when I deployed, now have Sirius because its what came in the truck. The biggest difference for me is that XM had fox sports radio and sporting news radio, at least they did when I cancelled in JAN 11. Sirius does not carry those two channels. Sports talk is all I listen to so I miss those options. On a related note, I can download the Czab show and Dan Patrick on the phone, but I can't find JT the Brick anywhere. If anyone out there is a fan of JT and knows where to find his podcast please let me know.

Yes, the concept of a moral code still exists and most of us live by it. GEN P had a zero tolerance policy for adultery in theatre. I know a master sergeant who was reduced one pay grade and forced to retire and two Captains who had thier careers ended for adultery. I agree with the zero tolerance policy and believe that any Soldier found guilty of it should be discharged regardless of rank or time in service. That being said I am still a senior Non-commissioned Officer in the United States Army and will not comment on what is going on with the General.

Apologies if this was already mentioned up thread but I skipped a few pages. Washington and Colorado voted to legalize recreational weed yesterday, not sure about Colorado but in the great state of Washington you can legally smoke starting December 6th. Anyone know if the federal government can step in and put a stop to this?
