  1. he's 30. the latest flavor of the week or a late starter?
  2. hey look, an unknown goaltender who earns the trust of his teammates in 4 games -- our highly rated scouting staff must've missed this guy. http://www.tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=415433
  3. Tallinder is a huge risk. If you've read up on his career, he missed a lot of time last year with a blood clot in the leg and he's been benched this year because he lost so much time last year and can't get up to speed. He might be finished. http://www.nj.com/devils/index.ssf/2013/02/has_henrik_tallinder_taken_the.html
  4. How about holding a one game boycott with no fans coming? Maybe the owner will notice something's off.
  5. Mission makes good skates. You can get them on clearance on hockeymonkey. Beware though you better know your size because there's no exchanges or returns. Each one of these clearances are limited in sizes and list reviews. http://www.hockeymonkey.com/closeoutinline.html
  6. One name I haven't heard mentioned is Drew Stafford. 0 goals in 9 games. He better practice his cat scratches. Buffalo desperately needs guys who can finish.
  7. No, the Buffalo Sabres have too much honor to bottom out. We are resigned to being faithfully mediocre and not buck the trend.
  8. No, give Enroth another chance. He's a good goalie but confidence is a problem on this team right now. Him included.
  9. How about changing it up in net? Miller has let in 4 goals a game the last 4 games and stands dead last (30th) in GAA at 3.11. He looks spectacular one minute and like a 90 year old the next.
  10. Some one lower on the totem pole is going to get the ax. That's what badly run organizations do, instead of admitting a real problem with top guys, they single out an underling and scapegoat them. My guess, one of the assistant coaches, Patrick, Adams or Teppo will leave soon.
  11. DR has put together a sad lineup and LR has mismanaged it into the ground. For 15 years. What more is needed to know? But now we get Mr. Soft in the Head as owner so we're guaranteed for decades more of this frustrating mediocrity.
  12. I remember the situation well. It was a great win -- I watched it on TV and I was there for the 6-1 game against the Red Army. I was also in the stands the night the Sabres pasted the Washington Capitals 14-2. Pure glory those games but those 3 glory filled events meant all of 2 points in the standings. I would rather see the Sabres save all the explosions for the end rounds of the playoffs. We've been going on more than 40 years of futility of winning it all. Being a small town doesn't cut it as an excuse. Plenty of small towns win championships. Green Bay for instance. We've had bad management all along. When the lineup was stacked, the various ownerships wouldn't go the extra mile. So far I'm afraid to say, the Sabres, despite the glory filled exhibition games, have been a high-class punching bag when it comes to fighting for the Stanley Cup.
  13. At one point in the game, Rask came out of the crease to make a save. I was waiting for a Sabre to run him...but no. That would've been fun!

Meyers and Leopold have got to go!
  15. time to bend over, grab the ankles and take it. was checking the Boston Herald about today's game. They don't seem like they're shaking in their boots about John Scott and his 1:58 of ice time...I think the Sabres are behind the times....they need players who can play AND fight. Not one or the the other. That's the new NHL. http://bostonherald.com/sports/bruins_nhl/2013/01/sabres_look_revenge
  16. Gringo should've been sent down. He's not NHL ready, the Sabres are just desperate for centers. Miller is looking pretty bad. The way he missed that floating wrist shot that hit the post on the first goal, and his chronic problem finding pucks from the point...I'm not sure he can be relied on on a night to night basis anymore. He's been getting worse every year.
  17. It's time for new leadership, or at least some leadership.
