  1. Speaking of Ruffs system did anyone see the article from wgr on player usage charts ? Very interesting.
  2. If losing is the only thing that will make the braintrust try and improve so be it. Apparently there will be no gain without pain. This team looks lost.
  3. The silence in the rink is deafening
  4. There's Millers 4 goal ave. against.
  5. No. We have enough soft
  6. This habs team is supposed to be tired aren't they ? Maybe we kill them in the 3rd.
  7. Maybe Ennis will bust out of his season long funk
  8. The only way out of this mess is to keep losing. The team just isn't that good. Unfortunately it appears Regier will have to fall on his sword before Pegula wakes up and makes changes that will have a positive effect on this team. I used to lament the fact that I wasn't in the Buffalo area so I could purchase season tickets but its actually a blessing right now. I wouldn't waste my hard earned money on this shite. I'll stick to watching them lose on the t.v. As a glutton for punishment I'll support them emotionally. As always. GO SABRES !
  9. But his value has never been higher. I don't necessarily want to see him moved but there's no way I want Darcy making that trade.
  10. Whoa nelly.
  11. Ah. People have to learn how to let go. Its always retreads that people want to bring back. Last I heard there were about 800 players in the P.A. Are there not any defencemen that could compliment Myers ?
  12. Vote of confidence from a G.M. in any other market is usually the start of the death watch for the coach. In Buffalo it makes me believe Darcy and Lindy will be exchanging rings soon. And I don't mean Stanleys rings.
  13. Maybe Lindys run out of answers. Doesn't know how to adjust mid stride ? Can't make adjustments with this high paid roster ? Maybe this is all on Darcy ? Maybe Ruff Regier are worse at evaluating talent than we all believe ? All I know is we're losing and its boring as hell to watch.
  14. Hey I've got an idea. Lets play a whole period in our own end. In Montreal the shots in the first were 15-1. If you play the whole game on your heels nobody will score. Including those offensive juggernauts on the second, third and fourth lines. Its been years since this team dictated play in a game instead of defending the entire game. Thats Lindy Ruffs style.
  15. So give them to the invisible man. It'll appear to be an empty seat and you can feel good about your purchase. ;)
  16. I've watched all the games or portions of some depending on work and this edition of the Sabres is like watching paint dry. I've also watched quite a few western games. I've never felt watching non Sabres games was more exciting until this year. Mainly because I've always had a vested interest in the sabres and was emotionally attached. Lindy coaches not to lose instead of coaching to win. I'm not sure if that makes sense but thats how it feels. Most teams play to their strengths whereas the Sabres always seem to let the other team dictate and they scramble to adjust. Its Just Boring Hockey. This team needs new ideas at the top and in coaching. A new philosophy. I still watch but its about as exciting as self mutilation. I'm tired of watching Lindy Ruff silently stare off into space and not do anything while his team flounders and goes through the motions. If he felt compelled to be better with his job hanging in the balance he'd be better but he feels no pressure so...
  17. Agreed. If they were a good team they could regain possession despite losing the draw and their faceoff stats wouldn't matter a lick. Does winning or losing the draw have any bearing on power play percentage or penalty killing ? I would think so. Especially killing the penalty in your own Zone. Lose the draw the other team gains possession and sets up. On the power play in the opposing Zone if you lose the draw your most likely chasing the puck back down the ice to recover it in your own end. I would think faceoff percentage is crucial to special teams maybe not so much 5 on 5 ?
  18. But they never won one for the Gipper.
  19. On a team collectively playing like crap.
  20. Perhaps they're bad at the play after the faceoff because they don't have possession of the puck. Puck possession can't be underestimated. If the Sabres were in control of the puck rather than trying to gain control maybe they'd have a better record. That being said when they do have control they seem to turn it over a good majority of the time anyways so who knows ?
  21. Teams that are crappy on the draw will always spin it the way Lindy has. Ask a team thats good at it how important it is. How can losing consistently at any aspect of the game be good ?
