  1. The argument could work both ways. Right before the lockout, Darcy build a team full of scoring and speed. People laughed at us and right after the lockout, we came out flying. We were one of the best teams for two years in a row. Who knows what would of happened had Briere and Drury signed those extensions? He took a big risk, it worked in short term and the league got back more into a physical game but the last few drafts Darcy has drafted for size. Problem is, some of those guys didn't pan out or are still developing into professional players. As for the Scott quote, I love it, how can you not, but i think people are making too much of a big deal out of us signing him. Scott isn't a good skater, so, he will never lay out anybody. The only time he'll be able to get in guys' faces is in the after whistle stuff near the crease. Which is ok also, but, the chances of Lucic or Chara dropping their gloves against him are slim to none. But, 2 minor penalties by Scott against the Bruins could be the final nail in the coffin for that result....
  2. While i understand why Sabres fans would want to make that trade, it doesn't make much sense at all. Sabres don't improve at all and why would Columbus want a 28 year old player as their prime return for Nash? They are in full-out rebuilding mode, i think they want to gather as many young players/picks as possible and build around the recent draft picks they've had.
  3. If he grows up and matures, Dallas got a heck of a player. I think, unlike many deals in the past that Darcy has done, this could be a good deal for both teams, not just us.
  4. This is the only place i've seen it. Seems legit. No big deal. If the Sabres truly are after him, all it could take is a few veterans and Pegula to call him to change his mind. Regehr didn't want to come to us at first either, right? Steve Ott said this to the Buffalo News tonight: "To hear the seriousness of how badly Buffalo wants to win ... that really excites me going forward as a hockey player." And that's just having a short conversation with the Sabres management. If the Sabres can talk to Nash, they could sell him on coming too. He wants to come to a winner is what his list pretty much says. To the naked eye, Sabres are not winners. Thus, we were left off the list.
  5. I loved Peters on YNN's nightly show "Hockey tonight" when he was their hockey "expert". That would be a great addition.
  6. Ryan Miller.
  7. When i heard about this show, it was common sense that this was just a propaganda Sabres show, but todays show was brutal. Even this show needs to realize not every single caller and listener is a kool-aid drinking fan. For Sylvester to pour on Brad Boyes and support Lindy Ruff is ridiculous. I hated Boyes, and he was awful here but Ruff/Regier brought him here, and Ruff is far from a perfect head coach. Sylvester making Ruff sound like the greatest coach since slice bread earlier today was disgusting.
  8. So we're gonna pay a dude $600k to throw a few punches at Lucic. I kinda like where their heads are at! While some people are bashing the move because he'll sit more then he plays, that this doesnt get us closer to the Cup, and all that is true, but if this guy ever fights Lucic and actually beats him, he'll be the talk of the town for atleast one night. That's worth $600k in my book.
  9. OUT- Luke Adam, Mike Weber IN- Paul Gaustad, Tanner Glass, Keith Yandle
  10. Exactly. Gragnani's " strength as a hockey player is his offensive upside, and if he couldn't have any kind of success with the all offensive Vancouver Canucks, then his career is even more doomed then Tim Kennedy's.
  11. Good luck to all the teams who made the playoffs! Playoffs begin tonight....
  12. Ive got a white Briere, but not Drury.
  13. wow did not realize your team was that good.
  14. 9 sacks. wow. Even a Kirk Morrison sighting.
  15. ^ New Orleans over Colts is a lock i think. Unless you wanted to save the Saints for later? Baltimore and Browns i think are good bets too.
  16. Florence was beyond terrible today, but how can anything be more crushing to a team then a INT at the goalline with 4 minutes left and the game tied? Florence was horrid but the Bills bounced back and were in a position to take the lead with little time left.
  17. Agreed. I doubt they will. I think we'll see plenty of Brad Smith and Naaman Roosevelt in that role tho.
  18. You can have him, i just dropped him.
  19. Congrats on your week 1 spanking of my team. :clapping:
  20. Hope they play a lot of Arthur Moats today as well. And Kelvin Sheppard at MLB.
  21. lol yeah, you went the mature way, and i usually try to also, but since this isn't a Sabres related topic and a beyond ridicules idea, i just decided to bypass the long post explaining why and just laugh, because it's not happening. I may do it in Madden on xbox tho.
  22. LOL at anyone seriously thinking Bills should sign Terrell Owens. Get real.
  23. Very happy with my team. Thanks again for the invite and looking forward to competing against you guys again for the third season in a row. For those not in our league here's my squad- G: Carey Price, Semyon Varlamov D: Shea Weber, Brian Campbell, Zach Bogosian LW: Taylor Hall, Evander Kane, Jaime Benn, Gabriel Landeskog C: Steven Stamkos, Jason Spezza, David Legwand and Brayden Schenn RW: Loui Erikkson, Dany Heatley, Brian Gianta Lots of offense there but a lot of question marks, but players i think will be big breakout players this season. Btw, does anyone have a list of team names/user names for Gold league? Thanks! Good luck everyone in both leagues!
  24. He'll also be remembered as the last player to score a goal for Lokomotiv. R.I.P.
