Me personally after watching the Sabres blue and gold with Devine. Devine seemed set at Risto at 8 and then another scout mentioned Zadorov at 16. I'm thinking the scouting staff has a huge input in these picks. I highly doubt Regier is watching a lot of these kids on tape.

Well no one wants Stafford and that 4mil that he's making. That being said Ennis and Vanek are there go to shooters in the shoot out. Good thing is this team won't get many shoot outs so they don't have to worry about using Stafford much. But hopefully Stafford gone by deadline.

I'm curious to see what Vanek does now with a true #1center. I think Vanek is one of the best pure scorers in the game and now he gets to play with someone that has some serious skill. Should be interesting. They need to give that scout that wanted Zadorov a raise. It seemed like they were set on Ristolainen when Zadorov might actually be the better player. This is exactly the things the scouts can't miss on with all these future picks. They have the next few years to scout all these youngsters big time, they should all be eat, sleep, drink all these junior games finding the right players. Nothing but time on their hands these scouts have.

The move had to be made but it still doesn't change my feeling for Darcy! He still needs to be Shitcanned when all these unrestricted players are gone. If I were a betting man I would bet against Buffalo every game this season. They have shown me nothing up front besides Hodgson. Which now says Stafford is your big gun. Wow that's scary!

I still believe this team won't be a playoff team at least 3-5 years maybe more. This team right now is just awful. Losing Vanek will hurt Hodgson in the short term. This is only the beginning. Once Miller, Ott and Moulson gets moved you are like an expansion team with a ton of picks.

U do realize they will suck next year as well! These youngsters still need developing. See Edmonton. 3-4 years at least.

Problem is they have to win the draft lottery and there is no guarantee that happens.

Yes it's great Darcy is loading up on picks but this is being said this is a weak draft class so all these picks don't mean much. Plus by the time u develop any of these players in 3-4 years. This is going to be a very long rebuild!

Devine is head of scouting and is in charge of all these picks. This gives the scouts more ammo to do there job. They can't afford to miss on these 1st and 2nd rounders. They really need to load up for the 2015 draft. If they don't land the 1st pick for McDavid that year they have to throw a lot of these extra picks for him. I think we will play in Buffalo when he's close to the end of his career. I don't see him leaving Chicago if he ever leaves.

It would be nice if Darcy isn't the guy. Here is how I see it the scouts are picking the best players available with Devine running the draft. Problem is Darcy doesn't have a clue to build the ship. And by that I mean players strengths.

Darcy did well with this trade. Not many teams have 7 million cap space to work with so he was limited to only so many teams. I see Moulson getting dealt by deadline. Miller, Ott and Moulson you 3 are all up! It's just a matter of when and where.

It's not over yet Miller, Ott, and Moulson all will be gone by deadline. No way Moulson stays for this crap. It's going to be a long long rebuild.

As much as we want the Kids on this team I would much rather send them all down until RR and DR are shown the door then let the new GM and new coach decide. I wouldn't put them through this crap!

When season tickets are at an all time high this year for this garbage. It's pretty sad that people are paying to watch this. I no longer live in Buffalo but watch and dvr all games since I left and I try to see them when they go to Phoenix, Anaheim and Los Angeles. But not the last couple of years because they suck and can't play a complete game if their lives depended on it. But this years team takes the cake. Outshot badly, can't score and their not even entertaining to watch. It should have never gotten this bad. Going on those meaningless winning streaks the last couple of years cost us solid draft positions to get a player that could make an impact. Plus when u throw in no balls Darcy to try to make a bold move in moving up he always states the cost will be too high. Yes it sucks u have to maybe give up a lot to make a move but sometimes it must be done. That's why I liked Brian Burke a lot because even though he had some questionable moves he went out to get the players he wanted even if he had to overpay to get them.

This is exactly how I feel. I have been watching Sabres hockey since 1980 and I can't remember a team that is this bad. They can't even score which makes them unwatchable. I thought the last two years was a great chance to finish with a top 5 pick and instead of speeding up the rebuild they just prolong it by going on meaningless winning streaks just to mess up there draft position and still miss the playoffs. Now u throw in possibly losing your only natural goal scorer and your best goalie this makes it much worse. We need to finish in the bottom the next couple of years just to have a shot at Reinhart and McDavid. But like u said with the lottery nothing is ever a given. Plus the way the luck is for the city of Buffalo I'm sure they would lose the damn lottery. It's going to be a long painful couple of years watching this garbage. I don't mind you losing but ###### sakes play hard for 60 minutes and make it at least entertaining.

Not impressed with Stafford at all. I think it's time we move him and his high contract. I highly doubt Minny is going to trade for Vanek. And if we trade Vanek which god I hope we don't because who is going to do most of the scoring? If we trade for 1st rounders I would much rather have the 2015's draft choices. That's when Connor McDavid is available to draft. Yes the kid is that good. Buffalo has to do everything in it's power to acquire the kid. Even if they have to unload all their picks that year for him.

You would have thought that but teams grossly overspending is what happened the last time

Well per TSN- St Louis asked about Miller but price was too high! 4.9 million a season for Weiss wow did that guy hit a home run. He is only worth about half of that.

You didn't actually think they are going to overspend on a bunch of these overpaid mediocre players. All these players signed today are grossly overpaid and I wouldn't want any of them except maybe Clarkson but not at what he got. Then they wonder why all these buyouts were put in place. None of these players are worth what they got today.

Like I said before the only way someone comes here is they are not wanted by any of the contenders. Hopefully this team is at the bottom of the league the next 2 years because the rebuild starts when the team can land Connor McDavid in 2015.

That's why I think it's going to be a long long rebuild. People thought last years team was bad this years squad is going to be worse. All these players who signed today are grossly overpaid and none are worth that money. Clarkson and Horton are not worth that money. No way in hell.

Oh and I think it's going to last for quite sometime. If I live in Buffalo their is no way in hell I would buy season tickets for a few years. This team is going to be painful to watch. Don't get me wrong I will be glad to see the young guys play but Edmonton and Buffalo with all the young guys are any indication it's going to be a long and painful rebuild.
