I feel like Dahlin got that treatment (maybe not that particular chirp) right away and had to grow into it. Perhaps Power needs more of that and weirdly never got it, likely because Dahlin had more bite to his game initially? Power punched back. I liked his reaction and I’m of the opinion that he’s Charmin soft. He needs to feel that fire and realize he can in fact handle that and more.

I noticed early on he was uncharacteristically engaged. He took a few shots at Giroux during that scrum and headlock/face washed another in front is the Sabres net later. Maybe the message is being received?

We tend to look at our own ineptitude concerning players coming here and it's completely warranted, but if we zoom out to the NHL as a whole I think we see less movement (go figure) which dilutes a lot of excitement. And naturally, the teams at the bottom do not get that dose of hope that comes with a blockbuster deal.

Totally agree. There was one thing on that Sabres embedded draft edition that struck me. Karmanos was the one who seemed very critical of everybody’s take on the first round pick, at least the clip that was shown. He seemed to have a vision of what should be and was actually holding his colleague’s feet to the fire, despite the fact that he’s essentially the one heading up the farm team. Moreover, his moves for Rochester are superior in team building. The current structure is baffling to say the least.

I live on Long Island and the MSG partnership is an abomination. There are 3 other teams that compete (get priority) for the space instead of maybe just one. If you're a tri-state area fan of one of the NY teams you'd never care. But for the many relocated WNY fans it's just a poor way to make your product available.

It seems to me that this Benson nonsense is a pretty good place for a guy like Gilbert to apply his particular set of skills.
