  1. this seems right. korpi coming in at 3 mill for a backup is not bad - bussi is no guarantee to be nhl ready. the more i look at this trade, this less i dislike it for boston.
  2. Kyle seems like a good dude - and I cannot help but be happy for him. But if any fans here are harboring ill will because they suspect he was behind or supportive of the team's boycott of the fan salute and otherwise anti fan chirping in the lockerroom - I understand that completely.
  3. I'd like that fella who is # 2 on that list...that's a player you justify waiving skinner for
  4. He seems well liked in the locker room - and is very likeable with the fans as well. Some people (myself included) think he may be a bad influence on the ice with a young team. He often gets caught out of his zone defensively...drifting a bit to get a jumpstart on offense. The thought is he may influence the young lot into thinking they can do the same, even though they do not have his same skills offensively. And...he is pretty poor on defense. This will not be a simple addition by subtraction move if they do buy him out... they do have to replace 'some' of his offense - and not just replace him with a JAG. It is not an easy move to make.
  5. They may have some big FA targets they really really like. If so - you take the pain now to get the guys you feel like can change your organization. While I am not saying they should do it - that could very well be a reason - and a reason I would explore if I were them.
  6. Yeah...27 year old with a 20+ percent shooting output gives me pause. Bottom 6 player, great! But if the speculation out there is top 6 money....I'll pass
  7. I wouldn't mind if they increased it to 9 rounds if they raised the minimum draft age. Teams would have a much better handle on what they are getting by doing so. Maybe more franchises would feel more patient with prospects and not being them up until they are 22-23 without worrying about premature bust labels.
  8. Happy Father's Day! US Open and leftover pizza. Perfect day.
  9. I grew up in Chautauqua County - so I am biased. Live in Cleveland now - but I go back a couple times a year. I still love hanging out in Bemus Point. Such a beautiful lake.
  10. As a 4th liner, I like him quite a bit. I think a lot of contending teams would like him on the 4th line. Of all the flaws on this team - in the role he was playing, I didn't personally feel he was the problem.
  11. And here I thought you didn't give a damn. You are a little trickster.
  12. One season slugger. It happens. I like Cozens. I have questions about his ability to be a top 2C. That's not a stretch thought.
  13. I enjoy the site on the occasional peek basis. But yes, it is a little weird how much people dig in and play imaginary GM. Sometimes I get the feeling people obsess and post things enough with the hope of it coming to fruition from the sheer force of their imagination. I guess everyone has a hobby...who am I to judge? I'll leave that to @LGR4GM
  14. Agreed. Probably not happening due to cost - but he would change this lineup dynamic drastically. Allow Tage to take easier matchups and be a true 2C...and Cozens can grow as a 3C. To dream...
  15. Oh you. Always making great points with no basis other than your own self assuredness. Please never change.
  16. Lindholm would be the 1C on this team. Take that however you like.
  17. I'm struggling to believe he is on the market. His contact is not awful. He's young. He's good. Rebuild or not, that doesn't seem like the guy you move. That said, your proposal, even without Foligno is fine by me!
  18. that would concern me about him as well.
  19. It concerns me that a guy we (front office) have pegged as a top two center could be thrown out of sorts by the loss of a winger. Cozen's had enough weapons to stay 'in' sorts from my perspective.
  20. Agreed. The NMC was not the problem per se' - it was signing him to the contract they did in the first place. The ROR debacle allowed them to fleece themselves. That is why they were and are morons.
  21. i bet they go great next to all your sabres gear. nice!
  22. delusions of grandeur I guess. how is your sabres memorabilia collection coming along?
  23. I believe he is, and I suspect the Sabres are going to call his agent. Most people are ignoring him based on the idea that we are 'set' at 1C and 2C. I don't think we are. Elias would be the team's theoretical #1 Center, allowing Tage and Cozens to avoid tough matchups against teams with extremely elite first lines (Toronto, Edmonton, etc...). Elias along with a player like Domi changes the look of lines 1 through 3 dramatically. However, assuming they don't buyout Skinner (they won't), they are going to have to go cheap at backup Goalie and Forward 13 and 14 - and roster Ryan Johnson as their 7th D instead of allowing him more time in Rochester. May also mean people will have to get used to the idea of Girgs and Robinson coming back on 3 million combined as part a 4th line with Krebs.
