I hope you're right, but why would Vegas draft him if they knew there was a very good chance they were losing him? I think girgs may have had a better chance to make the team.
I don’t think they waive him. They will just trade him for a draft pick.

or he has zero interest in trading him to the Rags or he has deal done or nearly done with someone else that agreed to his asking price.
I suspect the Rangers made a lowball offer so KA wasn’t going to waste his time

There’s no place for him in our lineup even if we move Samson and Jack.
Are we that loaded on offense?

Kahun isn't getting a qualifying offer from Edm according to TSN.CA
I wouldn’t mind Kahun for cheap

This would be positive, but would leave us in the same spot we were last season: needing a solid backup behind him
I agree but it wouldn’t shock me if the plan is UPL at backup.

Actually looking at our depth chart, we lost our 7th best D man as Samuelsson is a better player, younger, just as tough and has played nearly as many NHL games as Borgen.
We currently have the following D with NHL experience
LHD - Dahlin, Bryson and Samuelsson
RHD - Risto, Jokiharju and Miller
Borgen isn't better then any of these guys.
Except for the fact that Risto will be gone tomorrow and Miller will be gone at the tra de deadline if not sooner. We essentially have Joker at RD and that is a huge problem. Losing Borgen was a significant loss as we have no one to replace him.

I’ve mentioned the lack of centers for weeks which is why I’m on Eklund and Beniers 1&2 on my list. However we are talking about the Sabres management team not logical people
Ecklund is not a C unless you mean in the Ville Leino sense

Oleksiak and Larsson as bottom pair guys basically rules out a spot for Borgen.
Unlikely to be bottom pair, more likely 2nd pair

The more D the Kraken sign, the less likely they are to pick Borgen.

If I switch to youtube tv, is NHL.tv the best option to watch sabres games since I don't live in buffalo? How about NHL network?

Adding two goaltenders is a necessity, but the Sabres never miss an opportunity to miss an opportunity. After all why utilize an opportunity to improve the club? It so much better to watch competent GMs swing deal to improve their teams.
I think it’s possible that a goalie is coming back from an Eichel, Risto or Reinhart trade. This potential starting goalie (John Gibson) will share the net with UPL.

Well he is now. Was he surrounded with elite talent on the Bills in 2018? At Wyoming? Junior college? My point is one player had to fight for his place. The other was always 'the guy.' It doesn't make Jack a bad person. But, to me, it explains his reaction when things don't go as expected.
I think we need to stop blaming Jack for the worst organization in professional sports. The Pegulas have hired incompetent coaches and incompetent GMs. Any player who wanted to win would want out of this shitshow after 6 years.

I think the Athletic is in deep financial trouble and their business model is not sustainable relying only on subscriptions for revenue and no advertising. They will sell to whoever is willing to pay. I don’t think they have many suitors and I suspect the NYT is not paying a lot to acquire them.

Question: What is your ideal lineup of returning players assuming Risto, Jack and Sam for futures are traded, Miller is lost to expansion, none of the UFA's re-sign but all the RFAs except Sam are retained? What I'm getting at is assuming this worst case scenario, where are the holes in our roster?
Based on this scenario, I have to place forward Skinner, KO, VO, Girgensons, Mitts, Cozens, R2, Thompson, Asplund, Bjork, and possibly Eakin and Quinn. On Defense I have Dahlin, Jokiharju, Bryson, Borgen and Samuelsson to work with and nothing in goal.
To me the roster kind of looks like this
Skinner ????? VO
R2 Mitts Thompson
Asplund Cozens Bjork
Girgensons ????? KO
Eakin (13th forward); Quinn AHL to start
Dahlin Jokiharju
???? ?????
Bryson Borgen
Minors: Samuelsson, Laaksonen
Goaltenders: Nothing
I think this is a pretty good framework from which KA can work this summer. He needs two goalies, 2 top 4 D, a top line center, a 4th line center and at least one scoring RW. No way Meatball wants Eakin in his lineup. I think there is a good chance that Quinn and Samuelsson force their way onto the roster by mid season.
I think it also clarifies what KA needs to get back for Jack, Sam and Risto. I'd like to see as part of their deals, at least one stay at home D, a center that can play 1st line well enough to take pressure off Cozens and Mitts and at least one goaltender. I also think it helps clarify what KA needs to do in the draft if he can get Sam or Jack traded by the draft. We needs centers and another dynamic scoring threat in the pipeline. I'm going to go out on a limb and say Eklund (C/LW) is probably NHL ready and the more I read I think he should be our 1st pick in a close race with Beniers.
Here is where we disagree:
I think Samuelson makes the team immediately.
The 1st pick should be Power regardless of our needs.I don’t think any of the top draftees will play as rookies in the NHL.
We’re losing Asplund in expansion draft and not Miller.

If DG can unlock Skinner, it will be quite an accomplishment and will make a difference on the ice.
I think he might be able to do it. Skinner to me looked last season like he had lost his mojo. DG seems like an underachieving-forward-whisperer.
It would sure be nice to add a 40-goal scorer back into the mix.
We’ll see.
He won’t be successful without a quality Center. Jack barely played and was not healthy, Staal is a 4th line Center that we put on the 2nd line. I don’t feel that we currently have a first or second line quality center if we move Reinhart and Jack.

I can't see any positives for this franchise if they trade Eichel
Unless they get an incredible return and Eichel never recovers fully. This is highly unlikely and more likely this will be another ROR trade with a garbage return.

And that was Terry's idea.
Who does not meddle.
No evidence whatsoever that Terry not Botterill was responsible for the horrible Skinner contract. People love to blame the Pegulas when it was the incompetent GMs who caused the Sabres to be in the position where there at. You can blame the. Pegulas for hiring the 3 incompetent GMs and that is fair

IMO this is a massively under diagnosed condition because the medical research is just starting to fully understand now the impacts mycotoxins have on human health. The majority of the medical journals and research is within the past 5 years.
