Let’s at least acknowledge that Head Con-Artist Ralph Krueger was most likely an even worse coach than we know of. I haven’t seen a Sabres team work this hard since 1999. There, I said it.

Sam should’ve backtracked into the neutral zone, the play wasn’t there. Blaming Olofsson for poor puck possesion, which he has, when he gets fed the puck standing still at the blueline to avoid the offside with a Ranger right on him, and another one coming to doubleteam him while Sam coasts to the slot, is hardly fair. Yes, he could’ve passed to Dahlin, but he actually gets away from the first guy, it’s the second guy who creates the turnover. Why are the Rangers allowed to doubleteam him like that?

At this point, they’re the Washington Generals. Only, the NHL is not an exhibition league, and despite popular beliefs, I very much doubt Gary Bettman is pleased with having a team this bad around, for very long.

Sooner or later the team will cease to exist, if they don’t.

I don’t disagree that this team has passengers, but I think we’re talking about two different things. Just because you float it doesn’t mean you’re not in shape, just like being in shape doesn’t mean you work hard. And yes, conditioning wasn’t Krueger’s job, unless of course the team was visibly out of shape. Which I’m pretty sure they are.

That was kinda my point. So Covid breaks aside, who’s responsible for the team being this out of shape? I doubt everyone on the team are lazy by nature, most pro athletes are quite the opposite.

Uuuuhm no, that’s the coaching staffs responsibility. The pro athlete needs to maintain a base shape at all times, that’s the extent of what he can and should do. You think pro athletes haven’t got basic fitness trainers working with them throughout the season, in pretty much every team sport? Well, at least the succesful teams do.

They lost? What a schocker.... Covid troubles aside, RK certainly managed to get this team out of physical shape. Jesus.....

The only two guys who’ve been allowed to play together for extended periods on the roster are Sam and Jack, everyone else have been shuffled around worse than a Vegas deck of cards. Been that way for as long as I can remember - Even Lindy shuffled like crazy.
