  1. Two in Paul Hamilton, Ontario. And one in a then-former, now current NHL city, right?
  2. They played 15 games before the end of the day on Nov. 2. I think there are few other teams that did that. Like maybe one other. And yet, the Sabs were fine.
  3. Hank has a point. It was a widely-enough believed rumor that it would have shaken me (were I in Hasek's skates) even if it just were a rumor. And I'm not sure it was just a rumor.
  4. Each of these posts is correct. Neither will matter.
  5. There already has been a compression. Just remember that it is November.
  6. Wasn’t there a rumor about Nolan putting something where it didnt belong? EDIT: Hank has it. Hes a decent goalie.
  7. Only if you trade a quarterback to me
  8. None of this has to do with my point about audacity. Perhaps I did not articulate it well.
  9. There is an audacity right now that has no roots in any American history at all. For many, that is a considerably larger problem than policy decisions.
  10. I don't know if it's happened before, but shouldn't the House Sgt at Arms be doing something about it to show that Congress is serious? As for the second part, no no no way. Three branches is enough, and I don't want the Justice Dept. belonging to either of the other two.
  11. The Senate will do what a majority (and they would need 2/3) Senate in unity with the President normally does; it will not convict. Cf. 1998. But that is not the travesty. The travesty--the absurd and distorted thing--is the president. If McConnell refuses to bring it to the floor--as he has done with quite a few bills, because he is cowardly, well, that might be another travesty, and might also be a Constitutional crisis.
  12. That is likely more reliable than the wikipedia article I looked at. Still, Chicago gave him $5M for a reason.
  13. Nope; they made him a two-year offer. He chose one year, more money per year (prorating the NYI offer), in Chicago.
  14. “If the facts are against you, argue the law. If the law is against you, argue the facts. If the law and the facts are against you, pound the table and yell like hell.” --Carl Sandburg It is the last sentence that applies to this travesty of a presidency.
  15. Umm, remember who turned down whom?
  16. Not that I recall, but we didn't have twitter back then.
  17. They're basically completely unrelated. Finnish has more in common with Hungarian than it does with any of the Nordic languages. Some loanwords may have crossed the border in either direction, but that would be about it.
  18. Well, now I've looked at his concept. It's evolved and no longer looks ugly, but someone our age wearing most of that would definitely be accused of trying too hard to look young!
  19. It's reddit. That's why. (And it's 'whoosh.' Again, reddit, the people who spell it 'woah' instead of 'whoa.')
  20. The post you were responding to was most likely in jest. That's the whoosh part.
  21. Oh no. Where did you see this?
  22. The dispute with management already had been resolved to his satisfaction, and the team most definitely did have "the horses with Peca" to win it all. I wish this site were around at the time; it very likely would have affirmed this.
  23. Each of us was joking. Or at least that's what I had thought. Thus the thumbs-up on @SABRES 0311's last post.
  24. It took me fifteen seconds to figure out that Whitehead threatened to kill three people.
  25. Death first.
