  1. Although I think Moulson is slow and alot of what was said in this thread is true, the game the team plays is too fast for him but he is still getting to areas where the puck is finding him he just isn't burying his chances. You would have to think those chances will start going in eventually, right?
  2. Who sits for Ennis? I'd sit Legwand and have Larsson center that line.
  3. I was thinking spend more up front and when some other players come up for contracts it would help to fit them under the cap. Is there really a danger of Risto not playing out a 7-8 year contract? Nobody else is up for a raise like that for a few years atleast so there is cap space for now. I admit I do not have a working knowledge of the cap and how exactly the money is allocated and accounted for. Whatever happened to the bridge deal geez, that's a lot of money to pay a kid, even one as talented as Risto or Jack
  4. Whatever it is they should work an extra couple/few mil a year into the first couple years and pay less later to offset the bigger contracts that will come with winning hockey
  5. I saw Mike Weber below the circle twice tonight in the offensive zone, and he had an assist on Larsson' goal. Good on ya Larsson, the puck seemed to be finding him all game with Zemgus bulling through The team structure is starting to come through more with fewer lapses each game, tighter coverage in their own zone I think Kane belongs with O'Reilly and Reinhart but McGinn has alot of chemistry with them as well and has played well beside them. Just seems like Kane is more comfortable with them than Kane right now? A few weeks ago the Sabres were a couple points behind Detroit before Detroit went on an 8-0-5 run and now Detroit is a few points from 1st place Montreal. String a few together here and who knows what this season holds
  6. I feel like Eichel is tentative because he's not sure when or where but he's expecting someone to really deliver that "welcome to the nhl" hit. For those reasons he doesn't seem to commit fully along the walls and positions himself more for self preservation?
  7. I'm going to buy and wear a jersey of a guy half my age because he deserves the fan support for his importance to the team going forward
  8. I'd go Rodgers, Sammie, Landry. Rodgers is gonna ball out
  9. Reinhart all the way for me. Love Eichel, Kane, O'Reilly, Ristolainen, Z, Bogo but gotta throw my support behind Samson! Kids got a bright future ahead.
  10. I don't know why but every time I watch this I break out laughing, what a play. ROR is the real deal and likely future captain
  11. I thought the defensive zone coverage was the best I've seen it all year most of the game O'Reilly wow, keep watchin him young Samson As for Samson, he seems to get a little better every game lately. His progression continues to impress. Mike Weber for as much as he should be gone yesterday actually played well most of the game, getting hits and playing in their face. I think Ullmark is a shell of what he will be but he was good alot tonight. He just can't move as well as he will when he's fully healed but when will that be? They better sign Kopitar, he's alot of their offense it seems. O'Reilly WOW! Love this guy but I'm goin with the Reinhart jersey. Kane was on fire in the 3rd, I thought he was gonna score
  12. What about guys like Fasching, Guhle? Do they even get a sniff at the Sabres lineup in a couple years or are they traded for a more ready prospect?
  13. I don't think we have seen what Kane can actually be yet. He is just entering what is considered his prime years and feeling his way here. Kane also strikes me as a guy who can turn it up in the playoffs as well. When looking for a core group of players I would want guys that work hard every night but also realize that the playoffs are a completely different style of play than the regular season so they will have to have another level of play to strive for. Everything is contested in the playoffs so snarl, attitude, toughness and skill are personified. That being said I see the core 4-6 being Eichel, Reinhart, O'Reilly, Girgensons, Kane and Ristolainen with a possible 7th being a 1st pair LD (draft, free agency?)and the outer core consisting of Pysyk, McCabe, McGinn and someone from Rochester, maybe a couple of em. Bailey/Carrier/Baptiste? If Murray could add a top 6 forward or two and a top pairing defensemen I believe the team could start making noise. Gorges, Legwand and Gionta are good guys to have around while the youngsters adjust and develop but they will be long gone before they reach the second or third round.
