I was never in the trade Sam category but I think it could be time to listen if teams are calling.

Posted in another thread but worth posting in here. Plenty of good arguments for firing and keeping HCRK and plenty of suggestions of who to hire to replace him but I think people are missing an option. If they fire RK this season, they will likely just promote Appert from Rochester. I think it comes down to money but the excuse will be Covid etc How do we feel about Appert as HC?

You watch alot of Amerks games right? Was he that bad last year when he earned an all star bid and won 14 games? Kids these days are fragile man

I wonder if Jack is a "mood vampire?" He is the captain, by definition he should be leading by example. If he comes into the room pissy every day it would definitely have a negative effect. I know it's a case of be careful what you wish for. The guy could go out and get roasted for 7 goals today and people will point and say, I told you so. That said I'd still like to see him get a game. Why not at this point? The only chance they have is catching a spark and it hasn't come from the current lineup of stars on the ice. Maybe guys rally around the inexperienced guy?

Well said. I like the Turgeon/ LaFontaine reference. That period in Sabres hockey was so exciting, even when Afinigenov had the puck and didn't know what to do with it. In the meantime if they feel trades are needed, I'd dabble in the odds and ends and leave Jack where he is. Start with Hall and Montour at the deadline. Guage the market for some others. See if anyone will bite on Hutton, they might feel that with the right team around him he could be a veteran backup who could steal a win or two down the stretch? It's far fetched but it could happen, he had a decent reputation when he came here. People will say this is not how it works with today's athletes but I tend to agree with this.

JJ has not been given an NHL opportunity. He deserves a bank of games to see if he can play. The guy has been solid every time he's been given opportunity to start including 14-4 and an all star in the AHL last season. What do they have to lose by starting him? More games? Also, Adams could make a move if one is available leading to an opportunity for whoever is acquired.

I know it happens and that my opinion is in the minority when it comes to how to handle it. I guess I'm just not ready to give up on the player and without inside knowledge of his true feelings about the situation I wouldn't trade him. Ultimately I want to see Jack win in Sabres blue n gold!

What happens if they fire RK, as some have requested, and bring up Appert from Rochester to coach the Sabres till the end of the year? Sighting Covid protocol etc etc quarantine such and such. Then what?

They own his rights. Star players are given too much say on contracts that are guaranteed by the owners. Not saying he won't be moved but if I'm the Sabres I'm in no hurry at that point, especially if he's just moping around acting like a little B.

Do not trade Eichel. He is only 24. Even if it takes 2 more years to find or develop the right players/coach combo he will still be in his prime when they are ready to contend

I don't know if this is true but I do wonder how tight they are being in the pocketbook? At the beginning of the year there was mention of an internal cap. Is that why GMKA hasn't gone out and gotten a goaltender? Did someone say hell no, Okposo won't go...to the minors because I'm not paying him all that money for nothing so he stays in the lineup. Is Terry the cheapest multi-billionaire ever?

Those guys can and will hit people and their style could translate to any era. I think they're missing a Rust, Gallagher, Anderson type, and I know there are plenty more guys out there, players who aren't a liability and can skate and hit and provide that bulldog mentality out there.
