As long as its not preventing the team from improving, why would you care even a smidgen?
Should the day ever come that the team has the make a hard decision due to Skinners contract it will be worth the energy to care about it. Until then, big meh.
I was commenting on the 10 worst contracts in the NHL.. I think you have taken this completely out of context.
the day he was signed at 9 mil for 8 years I said that's a bad contract. Skinner didn't deserve Eichel money. He was worth $7 million a season then and I still think that's the number he should be playing at today.
He helps us get to the cap floor but that is a bad contract when it was signed and nothing has changed.
Do I want to get rid of Skinner or buy him out, no !!!.. But that doesn't change the fact he was overpaid to stay a Sabre when he signed the new contract based on 1 season playing with Eichel

Would have been already if he wasn't misused like he was.
Skinners contract was wrong from day 1. He's playing better now with Granato but not 9 mil per season better IMO...
I hated that contract the day it was signed15 hours ago, Buffalonill said:Whats wrong with skinner? He isn’t hurting buffalo
Wrong place ?
I like skinner but I never liked the contract. He's isn't worth $9 mil per season IMO
63 pts last year is not worth of $9 million -
In 6 more years that Skinner contract will be a bargain

Great summary of the Puke-ula era. It all starts at the top.
I'm never going to piss on the Pegula's. They make changes when they know it ain't working. As for Reiger and Ruff there were lots of fans that wanted change then.
The Pegulas don't sit by and do nothing, they may have made choices that didn't work out but at least they admitted it wasn't working and changed it ..... multiple times
Yeah the beginning years sucked but at least they work at trying to get it right.. We'll see how it goes the next year but if we improve again some this year and we look to be on the right track then give the guy some credit for making changes instead of sitting on it and hope it eventually works....

Comrie is filling the role Kevyn had Ullmark penciled in for. He's 4 years older than UPL, one year younger than Ullmark. This is what Kevyn wanted all along: A young, emerging goalie that can play a majority of games.
That's actually a better way of looking at the situation, more of an Ullmark replacement...- 1

In my eyes I see UPL and Comrie as equal prospects with Comrie having a slight edge on experience in the NHL. Its quite possible Comrie over takes UPL for the role. If Comrie can play consistently well, and stay healthy you have to think he leap frogs UPL.
UPL has to show consistency and stay healthy. -
2 years in and he made a nice jump from year 1 to year 2. I think he'll show another jump this year especially being surrounded by a team that's getting better as a whole.

The only people that talk about the cap are people who don’t want to spend money or people that screw it up. That’s why I hate when people keep talking about saving cap space for future signings. Good teams know how to navigate it.
You can push it down the road some and maintain with cap gymnastics but at some point the piper will be paid.
Chicago for example, although they went to extreme in their tear down, Dare I say Buffalo tank for McDavid/Eichel extreme
Other teams will be forced to make tough decisions, some will prolong for a little while longer, some will start the inevitable decline. -

Let's hope we don't need him in Buffalo.
Could be worse but Yeah I don't want to venture that road again going 5 deep on G's

Has there been any indication to think that he will not be a Buffalo Sabre? This is my only fear concerning this team right now. What is the timeline if all goes well? Is he in Rochester next year and then hopefully in Buffalo for 2024?
Yeah exactly that... He will most likely start in Rochester in 2023, got to get the kid acclimated to the next phase.
Should actually see him at the end of next years College season...
Might even sniff a game or 3 in Buffalo depending on where were at in the standings, If by chance we can make the playoffs then he'll probably just see Rochester late next season. -
What is Samuelson doing to Peterka at the end of that video clip...., is that a dry hump?

How often have I said he was my favorite pick of ours in this draft. After Kasper, this is the one kid I really wanted. Watched him pot 9 goals on a mediocre Czech team in the U18s. He was also good in the Hlinka Gretzky Cup and even in the U20s. I kind of hope he plays in Rochester in the fall, but I wonder if KA will send him to the CHL for a year.
Cool...You've watched him some, that does sound exciting....
I'm just a guy who heard his name for the 1st time when we drafted him. so I get regulated to the wait and see crowd, but what you mention sounds great.. Looking forward to seeing that come to fruition- 1

I think this board is napping on Kulich a little. He's basically like another Peterka with a better shot and while I don't think he makes the team this season, next season he might. There's a lot to like about his small area game, shot, defending skills, and overall ability to play a good effective game
Not so much napping more like lets see it in action.... Hard to tell how players will honestly develop at the next level.
Quinn last year was a good example, nobody expected him to make a name for himself so quickly but he showed he could play. Some growing pains but were expecting him to be a solid player in the pros after watching him in Rochester for the the year. This year we watch Rosen and see what he's is really aboot eh!

I manage my and my wife's IRAs with a subscription service
I use TD Ameritrade as a brokerage.
If your interested in Dividend /REITs as a portfolio strategy I can Highly recommend 2 news letters. Having these 2 newsletters cost me about $800 a year... My strategy is to save about $1 million and to have that $1 million pay me about 4% a year. Many of the dividend companies I invest in raise that dividend one a year. Some every 2 years, a few haven't made a change. Most of stocks recommended have fantastic balance sheets and good money flow to maintain the dividends.
The 2 newsletters I use are iReit, featuring Brad Thomas, and Dividend Kings which has a few contributors. Both are located at
https://seekingalpha.com/
I have been using these 2 service for a few years. They are very active and produce updated spreadsheets with more info that you will ever need. I plan on staying with them till I become to old to manage my own accounts.
I have a 401k at work and there is a company that manages that for me, but every year I transfer what ever I can to my IRA's.
The market took a beating and my accounts are down from their peak, but I don't care because the dividends haven't changed. Right now With just under $300k in my IRA's I make over $1000 a month average in dividends. I re-invest my dividends since I'm only 53 and buy more dividend stocks that are recommended, or since the market is down I add to my existing holdings
