  1. I highly doubt that.
  2. So why are coaches like Boudreau, Gallant and Julien even available?
  3. You're taking a chance with every hire.
  4. I don't see the evidence for that. Why is Granato's ceiling limited? That may send the wrong message to the players. Management isn't buying in so why should they?
  5. Not Boudreau or Torts. Brind'amor would be great if he'd come. We have a young team. I like that Gallant built an instant cup contender from castoffs the first year in Vegas. But I also think Granato is showing a lot. If the Sabres keep playing like this the last 7 games, I can't see replacing him. I think Jack would like playing under him. The one I question have about Granato is can he do more than just let the bees swarm? Look at the game last night. The Sabres frustrated the Rags with their relentless forechecking. But they couldn't finish their chances. Then in our end that swarming defense backfired if we failed to clear the zone because the guys were exhausted and the Rangers skill took over. It's not like Donny had the chance to install a system during a compressed season. They barely have time to practice. So the question with Granato is what can he do with a full training camp? But the way guys like Mittelstadt, Thompson and Dahlin emerged under him, like they never did under Krueger, Housley or any previous Sabres coach is impressive.
  6. So which coach from a bad team do we want?
  7. I don't find it that interesting. I mean which coach from a bad team are you interested in? I suppose the Brind'amor/Karmonos connection is curious but it would take a dazzling offer to pry him away from the Canes. Something I don't think Terry has the stomach for.
  8. Toker was rough. D was okay but got caught in their end a few times. I think the risk of the Sabres playing with so much energy is if they fail to clear to clear their zone they are exhausted and things cycle downward.
  9. As bad as this season was, this will be me till Bills training camp.
  10. It's way past midnight for Tokarski and he's reverted back to a pumpkin. Some nice saves but some groaners too. We missed some nice chances but so did the Rangers. At least we never gave up and we made the Rangers work for those 2 points. A win by the Sabres would have gotten them out of last place. Maybe Tuesday. By the way, anyone notice the regulation losing streak the Devils are on?
  11. He got saved by the Bruins being off and his defense. Not saying he won't be good eventually, but he was out of position a lot Friday. First night jitters, overplaying the puck. Maybe it would be good to play him again.
  12. I'll be traveling so I won't get to see it on time. These are days I love NHL.tv on-demand.
  13. You have an interim coach and a roster of, up till now, underachievers and AHL players. With barely time to get a practice in between games, beating playoffs teams and teams fighting to get in. And you're judging him on his many styles they can play??
  14. I don't get what an interview is going to tell you. How a new coach plans to blow everything up? What system he's going to make them play? Granato is doing more than just winning more games. He's waking up players that have not played to their potential under a parade of former Sabres coaches. Krueger, Housley, Rolston, Bylsma... You have a young team. You need a talent whisperer. That's Granato. Don't overthink it.
  15. "Don't let Rex Ryan leave the room."
  16. He was uneven. Shaky 1st, improved 2nd, then one sieve moment in the 3rd.
  17. Next win could put the Sabres in 29th.
  18. I like Bjork. Guy's a pit bull.
  19. He's been terrible. Only saved by the Bruins missing their chances. He's getting beat a lot.
  20. They're wasting a good effort on bad execution.
  21. Karma should make Columbus lose 19. You mean like the Bills missing 17 playoff seasons? Funny how fast things change.
  22. At least Tokarski didn't set a high bar For UPL on Thursday.
