So acting like that is the likely outcome with Tuch is like you're rooting for that to happen. All negotiations start apart. That's why you negotiate. You have a half dozen other players in the league right now slow walking their deals because they want to cash in on the expected higher future caps.

I was asking what that had to do with the topic at hand: the Tuch extension. Was the poster saying negotiating an extension with Tuch was somehow emblematic of the Sabres the past 14 years? That's why I'm confused. Are we supposed to extend him? Not extend him? Extended him 5 seasons ago?

Being 2nd line D wouldn't be the worst thing. He could play a lot and dominate in juniors or he can be challenged by better competition.

Why not Blue Cross Arena in Rochester? Actually they might be able to play at KBC even during construction. They pulled it off in Cleveland with the Cavaliers when Quickin Loan Arena was being updated.

Mrtka is actually eligible to go to Rochester. That's because he was loaned to Seattle by his Czech team. The CHL rules don't apply to him in this case. Why wouldn't Mrtka get top minutes in Rochester?

Mostly good. Lyon let in a bad one today (Det #2) but he didn't have many tough saves to make because we are better at defending. And a lot of it is Mrtka. I'm not advocating keeping him in Buffalo but he looks awfully good. He might be better off in Rochester than Seattle.

I don't think $10MM/yr is an overpay at all. And frankly the Sabres have to pay Tuch even if it means overpaying for some over-30 years. I just feel kind of bad for Tage who's being grossly underpaid for his production right now. But that's the deal he signed. Well, if you want the Sabres to keep losing, sure.
