Worse than actually said, he snidely suggested. His style here reminded me of his John McCain moment and the "I like guys who don't get captured" comment. It's quintessential Trump. There is honor and courage associated with owning your deeds and words and their consequences. Now, I'd say the same thing to his opponent, of course. In fact, I have!

Had I read the article without knowing it was CNN, I'd have thought I was on a parody or satire site. Trump denigrates all but sycophants. Opponents in the other party, opponents in his, US Geopolotical foes, US Geopolitical allies ... and now fire marshals. I chose the word sycophant deliberately. It's not enough to be essentially like minded. You avoid insult only by repeating "You're exactly right, Mr. Trump" regardless of what's being said. Dear Donald ... when being rescued from an elevator by public servants, be gracious and thank them ... even if they're also counting heads and ticketing vehicles under various codes. "I'd like to thank the Marshall for freeing me and my team from the elevator (gracious). I'll bet my team is even more thankful (self deprecating). My team, new to this like I am, learned a lot today about putting on an event safely for all involved (humble)". One year ago, I didn't think bombastic uber-brand skills would translate into governance. In some ways, it translates into nothing other than exactly what it is. Recognizing that, the scud missle hubris didn't bother me. It didn't impress me, but it didn't bother me. He talked, I smiled bemusedly. He tweeted. I chafed. My rope is ended. I'm at the penultimate point. No, no. I eat too many column inches. Your question's important exactly because you asked it of a particular group. Sometimes I'm Arnold Horschack. "oooh, Mr. Kotter, Mr. Kotter, oOoOOoh!"

When flinging poo, brevity is a virtue.

I'll reply if and when you open this to non-supporters. Respectful of, and interested in, your question's premise .... me.

There is no place less connected to "wind power" than a web based Presidential Politics thread! I think you found the best home for your post.

What, exactly, is "my need"?

Fuel for other fires, and not the ones I'm burning ... My minds's unchanged about candidates and tax returns,. However, I've done more reading on blind trusts. While my overall responses are generally right, there are unique aspects of both Trump and Clinton, especially Trump, holdings that would make blind trusts a complicated matter. My 401(k) example was correct, but far too simple. If elected, a candidate discloses holdings, not tax returns. Trump, especially, would list assets uniquely difficult to segregate into a blind trust. I don't know how liabilities are handled. This doesn't disqualify him, and we'll all get a look, but it acknowledges a more complicated situation regarding potential conflicts than the one I spoke to.

Very, very, cool ...

I want both parties to be that party. Then, we debate the methods.

From the right: Putin is not a world leader whose means and ends I support with any frequency. Also from the right: Regardless of who our President is, I expect him or her to effectively work with or against Putin to advance America's interests. Not implying any poster said otherwise, by the way.
-
Yes, even if they contained information any candidate had economic interest in any nation, which of course is completely legal and nearly universal. I have a 401(k). I have economic interests in foreign nations. Our country deals with this aforementioned nearly universal situation with blind trusts.

I'll agree with you; no equivalence. Take "mistake" out, and I'll agree more completely with the HRC portion of your post. My spleen's not spinning, but still slowly revolving. Add: Disrespecting a former POW for either political gain or simple mean spiritedness, and lying about it afterward, to the Trump list. On releasing taxes ... I'd be fine if both candidates, all candidates, said "screw off" to "let me see your taxes". I'm not sure when that tradition started. Not a hot button for me, one bit. Lastly, because I'm having fun: "So, Jesse James made a few mistakes with lobby hours and withdrawal slips ...". Carry on ... and vote! I know you will.

Bob, Bob ... i don't like you, i LOVE you .... but .... I'm going to tell you what made my spleen spin circles when I read your post. I'm not correcting you, I'm not changing your mind, I'm not demonstrating, proving, or suggesting anything. My sole intent: I'm showing you my spleen to help you understand how non-supporters read your statement. You can dismiss us, shake your head, get sick and puke, ignore ... i just hope you vote. In middle school, my daughter created a second MySpace account. She did this because my wife and I made sure we were "web" aware of what our kids were doing and, therefore, listed ourselves as "friends" who could view her page. She wanted another page where we couldn't see her activity. She lied. We found out and were upset. We didn't hate her. If anyone were upset with HRC for having a secret MySpace account, I'd tell 'em to give it a rest. If they were upset with HRC making an email mistake and lying about it, I'd tell 'em to give it a rest. Scale, import, magnitude, role, position of trust, motive, consequence ... Consider this .... Clinton supporters dislike Trump for, among other things, his bankruptcies. Let's say I wrote the following. "So, Clinton supporters hate Trump because he made a few accounts payable mistakes?" Would your spleen spin? This is a disclosure, not a point, counterpoint. There is no Q.E.D. .... for your consideration and use, as you will!

Yes ... I'm laughing. K9 saw me post on TBD about the phantom call on Toomay by Jerry Bergman. I was laughing and saying his call on me trying to be respectful to Democratic Socialists was phantom, too! Unnecessary Roughness, Neo. Good call, PA.
-
I felt like Pat Toomay, Jerry.
-
Have we cleared up that I respect the concept of Democratic Socialist as the name of a party with a particular political philosophy?
-
Fearful? You are a worthy political/philosophical adversary, but this is nuts. Be right back, I'm reading Joe McCarthy transcripts and pining for the good ol' days.
-
PA said the party would probably have to change its name. I agreed that PA was probably right and went on to say "but not for me". I respect the name. You then agreed PA was probably right, and added color. When did I indicate I was worried? I'm not following. Bernie likes the name Democratic Socialist as a description of a philosophy. I like it, too.
-
See Bernie's web page. He's more articulate than me. https://berniesanders.com/?nosplash=true%2F

You're probably right. I, however, love the honesty and clarity of Democratic Socialist. I'd get a root canal before I'd vote for it, but I'd respect the hell out of the straightforward, sincere, good faith, articulation of what it stands for. And, I can think of no one better to suggest names than you.
