Off topic OT Another attack in France Priest killed in a church
Neo replied to North Buffalo's topic in The Aud Club
I will call "terrorist groups within their (Muslim) homelands" progress toward saying something out loud without inquiring further. Wait, you're not saying all Muslims are terrorists, are you? Of course you're not. That question is goading the thousands of others who've implied someone serious did say that. -
I will modify "ask" to "helpfully suggest" in light of your fair and accurate report.

Well, booing God's become a bit of a tradition at the DNC convention, hasn't it?
-
Walls are being extended and doubled in height outside the DNC Convention. Will the DNC ask Bernie supporters to pay for it or is this another public good project without identified funding?

Off topic OT Another attack in France Priest killed in a church

"Those Muslim populations and those populations alone, have .... the stomach for "it" as well as the stamina to maintain "it" for ...." What, exactly, are the two "its" you're referring to solely as an issue for Muslims? What noun(s) replace the pronouns? All due respect ... are you on the verge of saying something out loud? -
An observation on unity without a conclusion ... There was divide at the R convention that viewers can point to from open to close. There was divide at the D convention on day one. (The finish is still an open book.) My observation - The R divide was largely, while not exclusively, among its leadership. We talk about who was or wasn't onstage, and what was or wasn't said. The D divide was largely, while not exclusively, on the floor. We talk about what was or wasn't the response. The larger divide among the leaders versus the larger divide within the base. Again, I have no conclusions.

I have to say, in the context of this thread, that's awesome. I'm not even watching, yet. Wholly non partisan - just the sentiment and brevity!

I will be there, regardless of tickets! I'm making pannies with you. Oh, definitely. He's IN. Does dropping me to one do it? I'll send Legacy and get two elsewhere for my daughter and me. I'll finagle close by. Just saw this. It is cool. That's my boy. LOL, I just saw this, too! I am happy to relinquish down to one! I have contingencies! I'm remembering the Russian Name Era. Yuri! I freaked. To the rest of you ... NEVER HAPPENED; he's lying! Hey, TB ... what think you of Nate Silver?

What did I edit wrong? I'm OCD. Or, did you see the post within a post foul up I subsequently corrected? I'm OCD and all thumbs.

Palin's interesting. I liked the choice at first and viewed much of the criticism of her as partisan demonizing. I've never come around to the view that she was as terrible as her foes depicted. She debated Biden to a draw, but was called dumb. Over time, I settled on her as a philosophical movement voice, but not quite a candidate. I've since moved further away. She went, in my mind, from being polarizing because of her beliefs (I'm sympathetic) to being polarizing by choice (I'm not sympathetic). I posted years ago ... I had a chance to meet her, once. She was in a room with many of what we'd call the business and politically powerful. She made men (mostly) stutter and fidget like freshman at a prom talking to the Cheerleading Captain. It was quite a sight to see. These men stuttered and fidgeted with no one else. Certainly not with me. I drove home thinking of rock stars with groupies and Royals with serfs. There is something to say about human beings with awesome physical and interpersonal charisma. Bill Clinton has it. I suspect it's the same feeling when you're in a room with her. I'll bring my "Neo and Sarah" glamour shot to the meetup. Edit to add: I've met Laura Bush, as well. She, too, owns the room. It's entirely different. Laura Bush owns you with sincerity and graciousness. When you stand next to Sarah, you feel like you've won the lottery. When you stand next to Laura, she makes you feel like she believes she won. Bill is probably a bit of both.

^ Grateful ... Now finish your lunch!

^Awesome! This place rocks. Off topic, but how'd you find hockey and the Sabres in NZ? Are you a transplant? If you're brave, I'd love an "other side's view" of the candidates we've settled on. Does it appear as bad outside, looking in?

I read them both. They're opinions. I am a Sully fan. I recognize he can have a dark tone. It's entertainment and another set of eyes on something I'm interested in. Sometimes we agree, sometimes we don't. I recall him as a refreshing outside voice when he first arrived. As it occurs elsewhere, there comes a time when you may have lost the room .. Talk about an industry that changed over my lifetime .... Larry Felser, Phil Ranallo, Jim Kelley ...

Welcome, Boyes. Vote!

Excellent post. I'm an R who wants the best D's running. I think that's why the DNC / email bugged me so much. Could've been either committee.

Stability! I could step on a poker chip (heal) and lose my balance. Confidence! It's always on my mind. The knee and hip (because of the knee and ankle) get sore, but I have confidence. I think I was grade 3. I wasn't the worst. I was diligent, but suspect Lehner's rehabbing more earnestly than me. I remember Mogilny returned from a brutal HAS, although it took a long time. Grateful ....

I've posted a lot today. One last observation. Whatever you believe about the emails, the Democrats handled it quickly and decisively. Back in the day, the RNC was a buttoned up tight ship. The DNC was a big, raucous, messy thing. Neither good nor bad. The table's turned. We'll see if there's a hangover, but today was a good DNC day. All in all, the controversy's over in a week if Senator Sanders delivers peace. They're not my hands, but Clinton and Obama are strong hands. Look for President Obama to return the favor former President Clinton did for him in 2012 in his speech Wednesday night.

I share your observation among my friends in the Bernie and in the conservative camps. I think "offing" Schultz was necessary and smart. Sanders, the spiritual leader, has been gracious. Perhaps this helps. I spent the day watching MSNBC. I do that, occasionally. I was surprised at how tough the analysts were. I cynically expected a hallelujah chorus dismissing the import. Go figure. Day one of the convention will be the proof in the pudding of unity or divide. I'll watch.

I'll think he does, you'll think he doesn't. I'll let Comey's assessment of probability stand.

No conspiracy, here. I am addressing the self serving incompetence of one human being. Putin's got the emails. The whole world has 'em. What I am doing is having fun with the dark consequences. Of that, I'm guilty. Soon, the talking point supporter email will catch up with this fact, just as it has with all others.
-
Off, off Broadway play --- Putin has the emails (anyone STILL think he doesn't?) and therefore PREFERS her in office ....he leaks nothing. Why leak a secret when you can profit from it for four years? ********** Act 1, Scene 4 .... split stage, two figures separated by a wall. Each is at a desk, alone, and holding a telephone. It's dark or late at night in the east, and dawn in the west. Vlad: "My good Hillary ... Before you refurbish that NATO base, you may want to consider your deleted "This is what it'll cost you in Foundation donations" email you sent to the Saudis in 2011. I'm holding it in my hand, now, in case your memory's failing. The title line reads "Chelsea's wedding". You don't want to join Bill in the impeachment club, do you? Remember how you screamed at him for being so dumb? The crow sandwich will be unbareable." HRC: "Loud and clear, Vlad." Hang up sound. HRC: "Get me Cheryl Mills! I thought we had secret service teams in the driveway guarding the server! Where's Sheriff Andy, I want my bullet back!" ***************** One of my concerns (down on the list, I'll admit) is that bad actors hold incriminating stuff. They most surely do. All that aside, I can think of reasons he'd want, and not want, each candidate.

I worry about high ankle sprains. I've had two ACL surgeries, been scoped once, and wore an external fixator. Google image that! A high ankle sprain was the hardest injury to come back from. I never did, entirely. Sample size of one. I'd be interested in the views of physicians.

Update - Wasserman Schultz stepping down as Chair of the DNC post convention. For Sanders, too little, too late. I expect him to be gracious, but to make his points firmly.
