  1. Those coaches have proved they get it. Our coach has proved he does not and, because of his lack of experience, never will at this point. Or are we happy to have the coach of the Sabres learn how to coach at the NHL level on the fly? How much time should we give Meatballs? If you're a parent, have you ever had people who have never had kids try and explain to you how to raise kids? People who have never had children will never understand what it's like to have children. How is basically any other task different? This is bad folk wisdom; unqualified advice. Why learn from people who have never achieved any level of success in the task they're trying to teach? After a certain point in the "teaching", the teacher is just making guesses having never achieved beyond a certain level. So what? He never played at the AHL or NHL level. He has no idea what his players are going through or what it takes as an individual to succeed at those levels. The Sabres' record under him is PROOF of this. He can only get them so far. Meatballs doesn't know what it takes to coach players at the NHL level to be successful because he has never done it himself and, unlike some other coaches who weren't players but were successful NHL coaches, isn't smart or creative enough to figure out what it takes. Mitts' comments, and others like it, are coming from people who HAVE played NHL hockey and are super informative. Why discount the experience of real NHL players and the actual record when it comes to evaluating the ability of Meatballs? It's crazy to dismiss this input.
  2. This is what happens when you hire milquetoast people who have never played in the NHL. Meatballs will never understand what it takes to compete at the NHL or even AHL level because he's never experienced it.
  3. Another shot at Meatballs. There's no denying the theme in the comments from those who have escaped.
  4. Mitts has to be beside himself with where he wound up at this point in his career.
  5. Now if they can stay out of the penalty box in the third they stand a chance.
  6. It looked like the video feed was on 1.25x speed for the last half of that period.
  7. The mention of how practices are done, how KO could get some quickness and physicality back, all point at whomever the prior coach was saying "they weren't getting the most out of Kyle Okposo". The stinger is calling that "new". I'd say all of that combines into a critique of the coaches in Buffalo.
  8. That's because Krueger had them sitting around on mats meditating on being the puck.
  9. More shots at Meatballs' coaching? "We wanted to get him in some games, get him a little bit comfortable. I think we practice a little differently here. There's just a lot of new for him here. So [we've been] discussing some of the new, some quickness that can come back into his game, some physicality that could come back into his game."
  10. So frustrating. How could they not have been fully committed to this game?
  11. Detroit is getting away with murder and the Sabres are suffering from Sabreitis.
  12. Can't drive down the highway looking in the rear view mirror all of the time.
  13. Did we win in the other thread? What's the prize?
  14. I would fully expect Levi to get called up if Comrie plays his next game at a Comrie level.
  15. It looks pretty and the bars have labels but there is nothing that contextualizes it and gives it meaning. WTF does it mean? What good is a chart if the designer can't give it meaning without forcing the viewer to go and look up sh%t?
  16. Greenway doesn't look particularly pressured in this pregame video... https://www.nhl.com/sabres/video/starting-lineup-read-6348938221112
  17. Remember when Jost got hit in the family jewels?
