  1. This kill will be huge.
  2. Getzlaf, you hoser.
  3. Latvia with the incredibly patient, highly defensive game; Canada is confounded. NO GOAL!
  4. N.O.L.A.N. G.I.R.G.E.N.S.O.N.S. ...my homer comment for the month.
  5. These are things that science has tried to usurp from the supernatural. Then those are the questions you would need to start asking, no? The issue I have with viewpoints like these is that they presuppose all things must fit into a certain order and method, and that the premise is "accurate". For example, "God" being something recognizable in some, even abstract, manner. That "consciousness" and Cartesianism (which is presupposed by omniscience) apply to beings (or entities, super-beings, those who/that exist beyond the comprehension of the human mind) other than humans. Science itself, though, is religion. True believers believe nothing else is worth believing. All Things are Possible if but Only Through the Graces of Science.
  6. I'm 5'11' and Hasek was taller than me each time I met him, no time were either in skates.
  7. He simply can't muster up that extra 10% of will/heart/focus to make an NHL play. He's like a lot of players the Sabres already have: lacking just enough in whatever to put him on another level, yet no matter how many times he's told how to fix it, he can't bring himself to execute the appropriate change(s) in his game. A shame, too, because he has some skill with the puck.
  8. I'm wondering why we haven't seen him "do" anything yet, to be honest. I like what I hear, too, but, and I know it's early, but I'd like to see "something" out of the guy other than good quotes to reporters.
  9. Okay. Thanks! I guess it's not worth watching the rebroadcast.
  10. Just having fun; but, FWIW, you're not the only person banging on analytics around here lately. I agree with you, in particular, pretty much word for word.
  11. DOWN WITH ANALYTICS!
  12. Oh, if flood insurance isn't mandatory, have it added to your policy anyway. One day you will thank me.
  13. I dunno about that. We've learned that it's probably better to factor in major appliance expenses. It's an additional $4-5k, maybe, depending on your tastes, but then you know where everything came from. If given the choice of getting the place without appliances and the price lower by a comparable amount, I would opt for new appliances every time.
  14. And black helicopters will come and strafe your dwelling.
  15. Don't compromise. And be exceptionally thorough. I've bought three houses; the first one we got lucky but I missed a lot of detail. The second one we misjudged the neighborhood. This current house is actually pretty good, but the damn town keeps cutting down my trees and there are not as many kids in the immediate area as it looked when we were assessing the neighborhood (a big deal when you have kids of your own). Take EVERYTHING into account: the house, its structure, the plumbing, the electrical, the roof (I say, the roof), the neighborhood, the municipality. DO NOT put on "homebuyers' glasses" and ignore something that would otherwise send up a red flag. Make a list of wants and not-wants, and try and be as objective as possible when assessing the houses you look at. It's so easy to get caught up in the excitement and dismiss things that you'll regret dismissing years later.
  16. You need to fix that image, bro...
  17. I'll take that bait: eleven thinks he's Queen of the Message Board and that what he says must be. I am always against that mindset and therefore side with Tank the Underdog.
  18. The ship was sunk by the end of last season.
  19. OMG, Omark AND Hodgson on the same line.
  20. I'm waiting for Pierre to introduce his mini me.
  21. I see, now, why 17 keeps getting into Nolan's doghouse.
  22. Okay, everyone keep quiet about the score until after the rebroadcast.
