  1. Can we say that here? I mean, whoo boy, I'm all sweaty after reading that.
  2. Friday nights are ice-cream party nights at Moulson's house. I don't think they've skated off all of the fun from last night yet.
  3. Not just money, but quality of life, too. Media hours stink.
  4. PR people get paid more, too.
  5. Oh yeah, Limbaugh, Hannity and O'Reilly tell me everything. You should watch them.
  6. I saw that. I thought it was spittle.
  7. That's because the Sanders "candidacy" is a set-up to make Hillary look A) like she's (more) moderate and B) she's capable of handling competition. And this notion of "seeming" or "acting" presidential is an inverse straw man. Seeming or acting presidential to the public but actually having a different persona in private is highly disingenuous and definitely not commendable. Anyway, I like Cruz, but thought the Bad Lip Reading video on him was a scream:
  8. Websters: a : a breadlike food made from a dough or batter that is usually fried or baked in small flat shapes and is often unleavenedb : a sweet baked food made from a dough or thick batter usually containing flour and sugar and often shortening, eggs, and a raising agent (as baking powder)c : a flattened usually round mass of food that is baked or fried <a fish cake> a : a block of compacted or congealed matter <a cake of ice>b : a hard or brittle layer or deposit : something easily done <after so much studying, the test was cake> Urban Dictionary: A woman's booty - Damn! Did you see the cake on that fine mami? Money, as in what pays the billz - I gotta hustle for my cake. I think technically cheesecake is actually a pudding. Could be wrong, though.
  9. A combination of flavor, texture, visuals and aroma, not unlike any other food. When the cake (or any other food) is good, those elements are perfect, separately, but also perfect in combination. The experience begins with the eyes and the nose, continues with the lips, nose and tongue, then, again, persists in all parts of the mouth with the nose being engaged, and ends after the bite is swallowed and you savor the lingering taste, and the memories of the entire experience. A good food will please all of these things.
  10. You haven't has a good cake, yet. I can respect that POV, though, as 99% of the time the cake part of a cake is relegated to being a medium for the icing. Most times the cake is too dry and lacks dimension.
  11. Funny, ha ha, it is to laugh. I have been backing up Foligno all season. I wanted him gone prior to the start of this season, but I think he's really stepped up and become a likable third line guy.
  12. We certainly have the room to add Jack's winger and a partner for Risto. Now, I'm not sure I'd call a McCabe/Bogo second pair "sub-par", but I can respect the Bogo Bunker Bunch. Bogo is the weaker defender of the two, but he has shown a knack for scoring. Ideally, he and a third or something are traded for his replacement. I have to say, though, and I trust GMTM implicitly by now to be fully on board with this, but whoever comes back needs more snarl than Bogo has. P.S. I would enjoy a Gorges/Pysyk third pair.
  13. Fun game after the first, which is when I picked it up. Some thoughts: On Foligno: told you so. On Larrson: he has taken to his role very well. Really enjoying his play as of late and he earned that goal. On Gionta: he's still where possession goes to die, but he did have a good game. On Risto: welcome back. On Samson: one of the most heady hockey players I have watched. On Jack: great goal, but his post game interview was very interesting. I think TBPhD pointed this out, but his natural leadership is starting to show in these interviews, and it's very welcome. On McCabe: like Foligno, I believe many folks here still under rate him. I think he's slowly heading toward almost-a-D-stud territory. On Pysyk: saw some physical from him tonight that I liked. I think he gets traded, but maybe shouldn't. On the game: if more games were like this, I think we'd all be getting along better. On carrot cake: love it, with raisains and cream cheese frosting. That was, in fact, the topper of our wedding cake (and we didn't leave any to freeze).
  14. Chicago is so, so good.
  15. I dunno if I agree with you guys. That was a five-hole shot, at a bad angle, coming in with the jets roaring. And it wasn't a gaping five-hole, it was a pretty compact one with Lehner tightening it up. In most cases, IF the player is able to get a shot off in the first place, the shot is going square to the goalie's chest or they attempt to flip it high. It wasn't quite threading the needle, but with all of the other factors combined, it probably was the last outcome Lehner was expecting.
  16. Wasn't that the first time Lehner faced McDavid? My guess would be Lehner will be wise to that kind of play in the future. I also expect him to improve on the flopping around on the ice like Ullmark did. Your statement on the goal is THE point, IMHO. If they were able to shut down McDavid for the game after that first goal, which they did, there's nothing to excuse not getting at least a 1 goal lead by the end of the third.
  17. You stay out of this with your philosophy and stats and stuff.
  18. I don't understand this board's culture. Yesterday, d4rk was freaking out over the people pointing out these very failings of the current team. Now that a "big game" has proven those failings true (again), it's okay to point out the failings? :wallbash:
  19. I could hear Lehner here in Tonawanda as he was warning those guys about McJesus.
  20. Just look for the good things. Like, we won a challenge.
  21. Who can they replace Kane with on the Eichel line tonight? Kane is blowing chances left and right.
