Agreed. If Tage benefits from the AHL playoffs, surely Mitts would as well.
-
Can anyone who understands what this means explain it? Does it mean that if the Amerks make the playoffs (I understand they are very likely to make the playoffs, this is just a manner of building the question) that Tage can be sent to them without a penalty? Must go down? Other?

This is all really for another thread, however your second point is arbitrary and subjective. One simply can not predict how others will react all of the time. -

WTF. It just highlights the most important words in a statement/paragraph. Bold was invented for that reason. Some of you people really need to chill out when your ideas/notions are challenged. Not everyone with a contrarian POV is a boogeyman. -
That'd be great. Thompson I wouldn't call sluggish, but holy moly KO and Sobotka on the same line is just...yech. I'm guessing the rationale is that Tage has a knack for stealing the puck off of sticks in the neutral zone and might be able to cash in on a feed from KO. And KO can score once in a while but is "good" on the boards. It's like a shut-down lite line. Ugh.

"Sabres' Beaulieu: 'I'm pretty frustrated'"

I'd say this article doesn't paint it very well for him: https://www.tsn.ca/sabres-beaulieu-i-m-pretty-frustrated-1.1260040

Me either. -
The thing is, I like Beaulieu and I don't get why he wasn't in the line-up more. He is the only player whose usage made the complaints about Phil's player usage legit to me. If Scandella or someone else was worth more, they could have moved them instead. However, the reality is that Beaulieu dug his own hole after publickly saying he wanted to be traded. Too bad.

Not to tell you how to mod, but, he's only challenging the reasoning or logic of a statement. We all lay on the snark here. -

They can't be "done with it" until they can get rid of them. That's the point. And "rebuilding" isn't the same as "tearing it down". You can rebuild around a core. A tear down removes the core. Which do you really mean? -

Keslar, Perry and Getzlaf aren't going anywhere. At most, until those contracts are gone, they can only tear down around those guys. I would view a "tear down" as rebuilding the core. -
Something, something about alpha males.

Also, the Kane trade was designed, in part, to aid The Tank. In a vacuum, this trade is relatively common, so, you can say even Darcy would make a trade like this. But when the details and context are factored in, this definitely smells like something JBot would do, for the reasons noted in the thread and elsewhere - which is not to say GMTM or any other GM wouldn't do this deal, just that there really is no surprise here. -
Are we done? There is no movement in the Force.

This is an interesting article: https://www.diebytheblade.com/2019/2/24/18239015/assess-brendan-guhle-trade-buffalo-sabres-brandon-montour-anaheim-ducks-thoughts-comments-reaction Not only were Leafs fans/media interested in him, apparently Penguins fans/media were, too. I've not seen a lot of commentary on this, but his zone entries and exits drives possession which is something the Sabres sorely need. Hopefully with Montour we'll see a lot less dump-n-chase. -

All their big D took a step back this year, apparently, so it's something team-wide. I think a D-man like Montour might actually like the idea of the Sabres because of Housley's system; being active offensively has to be more interesting. We have Dahlin, Eichel, Skinner (for now), we're coming out of a rebuild with a modern system and owners with a rep for spending money and desperate for a Cup. Also, I think our "hockey town" rep is strong. Other than constant sun and flip-flops, there's a lot here to like for a hockey player. -
If we can trade one of Sheary, Scandella or Sobotka straight up for Vanek that would be great.

Looks like the pundits are all over the place with this trade. I would love to see the Athletic round-table on it but don't have a subscription. Anyone who has one can you provide an executive summary? -

Ice time? Commitment? Good locker room guy? Team leader?
