  1. FWIW, the majority has always been stupid and pliable. That's not a new thing. What changes is the distribution of common sense among them, which, IMHO, is dictated by how "advanced" the society is. So, in first world countries today survival does not require an abundance of common sense and therefore it's not necessary to teach/transfer what's best described here as "common sense" to make up for whatever is lacking innately. The less common sense, the more easily fooled people are. So, what we've learned so far in this universe's present timeline is that the more advanced the society, the more likely it is to be populated by tools. If they weren't populated by tools, then they wouldn't fail, would they (he asks rhetorically)?
  2. Botterill makes Rob Ray sound like a Shakespearean actor.
  3. It's a convenient way for ROR to distance himself from the narrative yet get his side out at the same time. Nothing awkward about it at all, especially when players are traditionally supposed to keep "locker room stuff" in the locker room.
  4. There's so much in this here part. First of all, ROR did himself a favour, obviously, by simply speaking the truth. It's funny how someone who speaks the truth is seen as a problem and ostracized. This translates into much larger and important things which, unfortunately for many different reasons, can not be hashed out here. It's interesting to note the narrative that built up around this period about ROR and about the culture of the Sabres. I got sucked into it. It turns out ROR was right all along. This is a huge lesson to be learned by all of us. Again, not just for the Sabres and hockey, but to be applied broadly in our lives if we're at all smart and wise.
  5. I didn't ask if it was the ideal, I asked if it were done. Interesting that was your response, though.
  6. Are cases not built on minutiae?
  7. Aren't you a lawyer?
  8. Apparently we're not supposed to be upset with how the Sabres are run? My brother died in Roswell with a Sabres jersey draped over him, it was one of his favorite Earthly possessions. This $^&t matters to some people.

  10. He wasn't vacationing, he was DJ-ing for a 'possum meat BBQ contest.
  11. I get paid to provide that service.
  12. Ted Black has to be laughing to himself. Ted Black, for all of his faults, was doing a lot of things correctly.
  13. It's indicative of a certain, dangerous organizational mindset. They cloister; they tune out the outside and think they are competent and ignore the warnings that barrage them constantly like the Sun's radiation. We hear it in the way the team and coaches talk, and now we see it in action administratively when they are at a critical moment in their existence.
  14. I suggest a title change, because at this moment I suspect PSE is cruising around the internet looking for answers. The title needs to draw them in. I suggest something like "The Buffalo Sabres: On the Precipice of a Full Meltdown". And I'm going to share here the ONLY thing the Sabres have to pivot on at the moment: the fans empathize with, and have sympathy for, Jack Eichel. That's it. Use that, Sabres, to your advantage to help dig yourselves out of this massive hole.
  15. Wait, you mean it's being reported PSE complained about the Duane stuff to WGR? The devil you say! Who would ever expect that to happen?
  16. "Tune you guys out." Yeah, Jake, that'll give you your confidence.
