I mentioned before puck drop that unless Jost was held out due to injury, then my confidence in Granato would be challenged. Sure enough, Donny said that Jost was a healthy scratch. My faith in his ability has gone down several notches as a result. We are a better team with Jost in the lineup and that is obvious to anyone who watches regularly. If Granato is that oblivious to the obvious, then he simply isn’t the coach to get us to the promised land.

Maybe he’s still recovering from injuries then. I really DGAF at this point. He is not good enough currently, regardless. Yes, he needs better supprt. What goalie doesn’t? But if a team has to play perfect hockey in front of him for him to succeed, what does that really say about him? A goalie MUST make saves, regardless.

Right, they’re overrated. Second best record in the league the last three years at 37-6 behind the the Chiefs at 40-10 while averaging the same PPG.

Nobody ever suggested they were. But goalie is a good place to start seeing as how we haven’t had a legit one for a while now.

All goalies are gonna find themselves out of position at times, but UPL lacks the agility to recover from what I’ve seen. He had the same issues in the AHL as well.

Swayman has superior movement in the crease. I think that’s the worst part of UPL’s game. He is a glacier.

VO sucks at every other aspect of the game. Can a marginal team with so many holes really afford to keep a player who only contributes in a limited role and who often goes long stretches without even doing that? I think it’s a fair question. Regarding the scapegoating, I can’t agree at all given those glaring holes elsewhere that I mentioned previously. What do 30 goal scorers usually fetch in a trade? Can VO honestly get us the going rate?

I want him to hit 30 first in the hope it will make his one-trick pony more fetching to interested teams. Then again, they all watch the same video so it’s nit like VO is fooling anyone.

Perhaps when the team is actually less embarrassing than the crowd, that will change.

Same here. I realized the playoffs were slipping away a couple weeks ago, so I contented myself by needing to see young guys still learning and contributing while the team still put up a fight. But the pressure is clearly too much for this fragile group it seems. I can only hope this serves to inform them moving forward.

How dare you question any aspect of UPL’s goaltending. Every goal scored against him is somebody else’s fault.
