I don't even believe that. All the Kane smoke came from outside. Adams never said a word about it. It's all agents spoon feeding the "insiders."

No GM talked openly about Kane. Believe what you want but they offered him the most, wanted him here and only started to put their spin on it when Kane told them it was down to Detroit and Florida.
As “Thorn” has constantly stated, Adams has become a master at leaking “the effort” and spinning things their way.

    1) he didn’t trade Ullmark because he knew he could sign him.

    2) he didn’t sign Ullmark because he didn’t want to block his prospects. What real franchise saves spits for prospects.

    3) the contenders gave up their future for immediate satisfaction and Buffalo will benefit( he even got Donny to echo those thoughts).

    4) the Devils are a year ahead so that’s why they are trading prospects and going for it

    5) now apparently Detroit’s a year ahead

    6) next year, Ottawa will be a year ahead

    7) we were really close on a forward at free agency, but price went too high

don’t worry, they are really trying.

Who? If Patrick Kane doesn’tu want to sign with the Sabres, who would want to sign with them? Could he have concerns about the Sabres that we don’t know about?

This, I believe, is the correct take. He wanted to be here, Buffalo offered the most money, and he chose someone the Sabres are competing with.

I had doubts of what kind of fir he was, don’t like him personally, and am not sure he’s what they want in the locker room, but him going there is an embarrassment to the front office.

So Savoie and Krebs for a significant player (that package screams Calgary) and Kane signs.

Let the mad speculation commence! 😁

I’ve never felt that Savoie was highly regarded in the organization. They really wanted Kasper and Savoie was the consolation prize. Then after drafting Benson it seemed like they couldn’t talk about him without mentioning that he was the best player on the ice whenever they checked in on Savoie.

  4. Things I know for certain;

    1) the Sabres have made the best financial offer(two years).

    2) Last time I talked to anyone, he still “waxed poetic” about playing here

    3) the Sabres have done their “due diligence” and believe he has matured and could handle playing here

    4) he will not sign here without assurances the team is “all in.”

I am not a big fan of this move but my feelings may be colored by my dislike for the family. It is point number four that I feel is the best part about the whole scenario.

The flip side, of course, is if he goes elsewhere he believes they aren’t ready for contender status.

The situation is still fluid but I won’t be surprised if it all comes to a head tomorrow.

How are the Meatballs working out for you? You really haven't figured out that I'm right about this stuff?

He and his assistants are trash coaches unless all you want is an extended preseason for the next five years.

Letting those three figure out the lines last night with 11 forwards was like letting a Piper Cub pilot into the Concorde cockpit.

These takes are hysterical. It’s like no one pays attention to what’s going on around the league. There are like three teams with records significantly above .500 and 3 sucking pond scum. Everyone else is treading water as they figure things out.

and yet, there it is, still a big part of the game whether you like it or not.

It is not a big part of the game. The Vegas Knights had the fewest penalty minutes per game last year and won the Cup. Carolina, The Rangers and the Devils were/are three of the best teams in the East were all in the lowest six. You can convince yourself it’s relevant but the numbers suggest otherwise.

I'd take Hagel as well. I'd have signed Hathaway and then Cozens would definitely not have had to fight him. We need toughness on all levels, not just fighting.

Tampa's in second place despite having no goalie, so not bad.

I believe toughness is an important attribute. I just don’t think fighting is necessary.

You like a laugh I see.

But is it? If it is, why did so many teams add that to their roster. Why did a top team like Tampa spend so much on Jeannot? I guess they enjoy laughing at the teams below them that don't make the playoffs.

Now what really is laughable is the notion that Hathaway is a "top pugilist". I'd agree with you if he took on DesLauriers (a guy we discarded and yet there he is, still wrecking havoc around the league) but Hathaway is a mid level fighter at best. If you can't stand up to him, you have ZERO chance come playoff time. ZERO.

Imagine what the Sabres might be like at this point if they actually valued toughness, even a little, and still had guys like DesLauriers or Foligno on the roster. Maybe then Cozens would have  been in the line up. Not valuing that at all is incomprehensible.

Two laughs and one incomprehensible each. I think that makes us even.

We have different definitions of “toughness.” I’d take Hagel back over Deslauriers but whatever.

By the way, how’d that work out for Tampa?

Cozens still out? Hmm, I wonder if he's going to come back gun shy. Not good.

Those bottom lines are not good.

I hope he does come back gun shy. Your top centers shouldn’t be getting into fights with other teams top pugilists.
The notion that getting into a fight the final minutes of an embarrassing loss has any benefit at all is laughable.

The concept that teams still have to employ “fighters” to protect their top players is laughable.

The notion that the Sabres wouldn’t have been better served with Cozens in the lineup against Carolina is incomprehensible.

Take  the point.  Win both games on the weekend

UPL needs to learn for that but they wouldn’t have had a point without him

I hate this take. Good teams have goalies that  sometimes have to bail them out. UPL played well and has this season but these “little” mistakes add up. The difference between championship teams and also rans can be as little as 15-20 goals per year.

He's making a great case for why he should be extended.

    I wouldn't go 8 years. You're looking at 4 maybe 5 year deal.

This is the most likely scenario. The only way he goes 8 is if he takes similar to Tage and Dylan and I doubt his agent allows that.

Since when?   We are still operating under Pegula's  EEE guidance.   He was told to get under and stay under the cap, after the purge of players who didn't want to be here he started using the cap underage to sign his own players with very few free agents.  We all assume once we are a playoff team he will spend close to the cap.   Right now he is still working the plan that he announced when he took over and that plan had restrictions.

I think you are saying KA isn't going to absorb some of his salary just to acquire a 4th round pick, which I agree would be his position - because he is under restrictions.   VO is an UFA after this season so he could eat some of that salary, but he apparently won't or can't.

I think there are several reasons the trade didn't happen:

    •  KA could not get what he wanted, then
    •  Quinn got hurt so he decided to keep him, and
    •  He is operating under restrictions such as retaining salary.

    1) EER guidance?

    2) He authorized $7M in signing bonuses but wouldn’t retain $2M in order to $1.7M by buying out VO and replacing him with some prospect on a rookie contract? He needs a new accountant.

  13. TP hasn’t put any restrictions on spending. KA is a fairly smart guy and he isn’t going to spend $2M to acquire a fourth round pick. There was no market for him so it made sense to just let him be your 13/14 forward and who knows, maybe he wins you a game or two if the right situation pops up.

I have a friend who bought one 3 years ago. Loves it. Research it well.

Same, and my friend owns a pizzeria for whatever that’s worth. Loves his oven.

I figured it would only work well for the thinner style brick oven pizza. I like to make my own dough and sauce, etc. But it's 600 bucks for the 16 inch oven and I'm not sure I can justify that

About 30 pizzas minus your cost of ingredients sounds about right. Probably add 5 more till you figure it out.
