No kidding. It was the first thing I thought of the other night when that squeaker went in.

I always roughed up the ice so it would be a little less slippery when sliding in the butterfly. One thing I used to do was take the snow that builds up and pack it against the posts. It would let me get a better seal with my skate against the post and keep pucks from sneaking through.

My favorite things to do while playing goalie: -lay down on the ice while play is in the other end. Extra points for pretending to nap. -dance to music, real or in my head -put my stick on top of the net and try to make saves without it -taking that a step further, leave blocker and catcher on top of the net too, put arms behind back, and try to make saves with only my legs/torso. That was a favorite with my group of friends in college. -scream at opposing players near the crease. Get right up behind their ear and just let rip. This works well for me because I'm very loud.

It's probably for the best. He would have just waved his wallet around the whole time and then at the last minute have left you with the check.

They're still not gonna trade for a goalie. Epic dive :lol:

There are no daytime events to cover. It's 3am there. Morning events should be starting around 6pm here.

I would have to be desperate to take a goalie on at the deadline. I don't think Snow is desperate.

Trading for goalies at the deadline never works out though. The team has played all season in front of these guys so they know their strengths and weaknesses and have developed chemistry with them. You plug a new goalie in with new habits and new problems and you're asking for trouble. I think it's better to stick with the goalies you have.

Figured I would start a thread for general discussion. Competitions started tonight (mid-morning in South Korea). Opening ceremony I believe is going to be on tape delay tomorrow night unless you want to watch it live at like...6am tomorrow. As far as watching the Olympics, we don't have cable TV so I opted to subscribe to YouTube TV. It's $35/mo, no contract, lets you stream on multiple devices. It's a 7 day trial and then the subscription bills, so if it doesn't work for you at least you got a free week of Olympics streaming out of it.
