  1. My last name would indicated that I'm English, but my ancestry is mostly Polish and German, and at one point in the early 20th century my familial last name was extremely Polish. But I also suspect that my Polish heritage is more Russian than Polish, so who the hell knows. I'm a white guy.
  2. Absolutely.
  3. It's like the new guy on a team has never had an amazing first game before ever. I hope San Jose is a good fit for him. They're a better team overall and maybe he even has some natural chemistry. But let's see what things look like in 10 games or so.
  4. This is false, as has been shown by Flagg's analysis of the lack of depth scoring from this current roster to that of Bylsma's rosters. Despite my not caring for them much, Foligno, Ennis and Gionta were important to Bylsma's "success". Housley hasn't had even those mediocre depth players at his disposal.
  5. I knew I could count on you to get what I was going for.
  6. Thank you. This is what I'm seeing too. I never believed there were many viable trade partners for how I was valuing Kane, with San Jose being the logical buyer because of their need for scoring of any kind. But no other team needed Kane enough to outbid San Jose. They've got their depth scoring. San Jose was the only contending team in the West really lacking in that department. I don't see any buyers that stick out as "definitely wanted Kane but passed because the price was too high." Because clearly the price was quite low. I suspect it always was. Maybe it wouldn't kill some people to consider that option.
  7. I would watch Kane's debut with the Shorks but that is just waaayyy too late at night for me.
  8. Okay, but who actually bought yesterday that could reasonably be believed to have been interested in Kane enough to make an offer better than what Botterill got for him?
  9. "the other people found different partners" Do expand.
  10. Limited imagination? Why not just accept the simplest, most likely, answer? Why does this need to be an exercise in crafting the most outrageous scenario possible?
  11. Best of luck to Kyle and his new child, Koko Okposo.
  12. To be fair, you could probably run that exact story in old Artvoice and new Artvoice to wildly different effect.
  13. I think that's part of the strategy though. It's sneaky. Change the substance but not the name and see how many people keep reading it.
  14. Their wiki literally says they're an alt-right publication. The front page of their (awful looking) site is almost entirely politics. The "Art" seems to be there in only the most minimal amount.
  15. That explains that then. I've been picking The Public up at Premier when I get booze and it made me wonder why we needed another Artvoice. Then someone pointed out to me today that Artvoice's twitter is just retweeting tons of Infowars stuff. I leave Buffalo for 10 years and this is what I have to come home to?
  16. Apparently Artvoice is an alt-right newspaper now? What the hell?
  17. I suspect it has no effect on future trade returns, given that his previous trade with Minnesota didn't seem to have any effect on this one. How's that? I swear, some people here just want to use Occam's Razor to slit their wrists. Down the road, not across the street.
  18. Those guys all went straight to the Sabres before getting sent down to the A.
  19. I really just want it to pan out that O'Regan - Eichel - Rodrigues somehow ends up being our top line that absolutely destroys the Bruins in a playoff series.
  20. Filing this one under "posts I wouldn't expect pi to make".
  21. Right, and I'm sure a lot more college players we going to the AHL that year in general.
  22. That was because of the lockout though.
  23. Because you can't ever lose. Winners win, gosh darnit. And if you can't win, then don't even play. But if you don't play, you're also a loser. Got it?
  24. It's some kind of weird trope about not looking tough or getting the reputation as a pushover within the NHL GM community. Apparently, not trading Kane would put the rest of the NHL on notice or something. You don't mess with the J-Bot. He's one baaaaaaad mother-(SHUT YO MOUTH).
