  1. Yup. The biggest problem continues to be that the goal of the power play is to set Jack up but Jack also spends too much time with the puck. It doesn't work right. My hope is that by adding a 4th forward to the power play the goal will shift to setting that 4th forward up. If Jack is going to handle the puck so much then let someone else be the shot guy. The problem is that the 4th forward is Okposo and the defender that was subbed out is not Ristolainen. That ain't it, chief.
  2. Amazing.
  3. We've been doing the same basic GDT subject line here for like a decade now. It shouldn't be too hard for OPs to get it right.
  4. Is this a thing? I've never worked anywhere that cared about employees surviving their commutes.
  5. I'm glad they're picking this up on the road. Better place to try to get your legs under you after such a long break. Hopefully everyone who was banged up is feeling much better. I want Ullmark but I suspect we'll see Hutton tonight and then Ullmark against Dallas tomorrow night. Will be interesting to see if Housley's power play tinkering works. My first guess is that it wont because I don't agree with the player selections. But we'll see.
  6. Sam centering a line is never going to happen. I still wish we could get a few games with him on his own line. I accept, though, that Phil is probably never going to try that again.
  7. Pilut in the "no offense" range is maybe worth discussing.
  8. I mean, they've only had 4 SOs this year and they've won 3 of them. It's not like they're getting killed in the shootout.
  9. It's weird to think guys like Lundy, Miller, Fleury, Luongo, are gonna be out of the game pretty soon.
  10. I'm enjoying this so far.
  11. That lap by Kendall Coyne was excellent. Eichel currently leading fastest skater. McDavid beats him out.
  12. I'm looking forward to the PK Subban variety show after the skills comp lol
  13. 5-day YouTube TV trial? Don't mind if I do. Gotta watch Jack and Sam clown around
  14. I mean, Trump's capitulation was inevitable right? Anyone who knows anything would never have taken it this far. The only reason this even happened is because he literally had no idea that shutting the government down would actually have this affect. The best part is he already took responsibility for the next shutdown! It'll never happen though. He's going to do like he did with the ACA and just shuffle on to the next awful thing he wants to try. He doesn't have the guts to shut the government down again and get served another L so he'll just pretend like the whole thing never happened.
  15. Rumors are that this 1:30 presser from Trump will be him caving.
  16. Wilbur Ross is as awful as they come. Just an absolutely scumbag. Really drained that swamp eh?
  17. If it walks like a criminal, and talks like a criminal, it's probably a criminal. Roger Stone is a parasite. A mediocre wannabe mobster. And like every one of these feckless dopes that are connected to the President, he's going to sing like a bird to save his ass from spending the rest of his life behind bars. No loyalty among thieves.
  18. I hear ya. Unfortunately trying to avoid down payments is tough if you want to actually own the car and not get ripped off. For future reference, if you ever want to lease again, keep in mind that you basically don't have to put anything down to lease a car. Anything you put down on a lease is basically just paying ahead. The dealer is tricking you. So when you look at leasing a car total up the monthly payments and the down payment and see if it's actually a good value. Most of the time it wont be when compared to buying a new car and owning it for 10 years, buying a used car, etc. For instance, buying a full size truck at $40,000, when that truck is 10 years old it'll still be worth almost half the purchase price. So you've really only paid $20,000 for that truck if you wanted to trade it in. That's like, $2,000 per year. Assuming you spent $1000/yr on maintenance for the last 7 years you owned it, you've still only paid $2700/yr over 10 years. Or $225/mo. Meanwhile, leasing a midsize car at $280/mo starts feeling...like a ripoff. Not that I'm saying you should buy a truck. I'm just saying that there are a lot of things to think about when deciding how you want to spend money on cars.
  19. Mmm. So you leased the car right? And you put $3000 down on the lease. So all that really accomplished was to lower your lease payments. And your lease was probably through Chevrolet's financial department. When you buy a car out at the end of the lease, you're buying it at the residual value, which is set on the lease paperwork when you lease the car. The residual is what you're negotiating when you lease a car because the goal, if you plan to buy the car at the end of the lease, is to have the residual be as low as possible. Usually the brand will offer you an option to finance the car through them or you can go get your own loan. Either way, you have the buy the car from the leasing company since you don't currently own it. You could always pay cash if you have the money. But if your goal is to keep making monthly payments you're going to be taking out a loan of some kind. The trick is to see if buying the car out makes financial sense. Don't just look at the monthly payment number. You'll also want to think about how the loan payments fit into your budget. Were the lease payments comfortable? Would you want to be making loan payments at the same number? Will you be able to budget ~$1000 per year in maintenance after the various warranties are up and you're still making loan payments. There's a lot to think about. You should sit down with someone who can explain it better than I can.
  20. I've lucked out the last few times I had to sell a car. I sold my truck to a friend, my roadmaster to another friend, and my lesabre to someone who was friends with a neighbor. Have you tried putting a call out on facebook to see if anyone you know wants it or knows someone who wants it? That might save you some hassle.
  21. Yuuuupppp.
  22. "Whatever car you have, I'll give you $500." - everyone on the internet
  23. 24 month lease? Something to look at is whether your buyout residual is going to be worth it. Sedans are on the way out in the marketplace thanks to crossovers and they're depreciating like crazy. You might be able to pick up a used version of the same car for less than what your residual would be. Think about how long you plan to keep the car too, and how much cash you have on hand right now to put towards the loan. I wouldn't take out a loan longer than 36 months, so if your residual is something like $17k you'd want to put like $6-7k down to beat the depreciation in case you decide to bail out and trade it in before the loan term is up. edit: on a personal note, I haven't been too happy with the whole loan thing. I don't like it very much. It makes me anxious. But that might just be me. I think in the future I want to buy cars cash.
  24. I agree that if Beto does decide to run it will be late in the game. I think, having just exhausted himself trying to beat Ted Cruz, he needs some time to sit and watch things unfold. If the Democratic pool still looks murky in the fall, I think he'll jump in.
  25. I don't really agree with you about needing "the other side". Even Hillary could have won in 2016 if regular old Democrats showed up in their normal numbers. A Democrat would win basically every time if Democrat voters were as dedicated as their GOP counterparts. The problem is that Democrat voters like to psyche themselves out. They're much more inclined to stay home, which is a habit the party needs to do a better job of breaking. I do agree that Beto could be a good candidate though. He's a natural politician and he, like AOC, is stealing some of Bernie's thunder in the party. He's not a socialist, but he's got the grass-roots thing down pat. He also has a less questionable past than some of the early Dem candidates, which I think favors him when things get ugly. Not to mention that his campaign in Texas is probably one of the toughest any Democrat has run in a very long time. He should know full well what he's up against as a Pres candidate. Texas was invaluable practice.
