  1. Dat cap hit tho
  2. I'll take this current version of discourse over the awful stuff we were saying ten years ago on here, like Tim Connolly's brain damage being a punch line.
  3. More like Big Vic Energy amiright?
  4. Agreed. They already have too much money tied up in D contracts anyway.
  5. I'm not worried about it yet. Olofsson is still a rookie and it's going to take a little time for him to get used to the lack of time and space at 5v5. Jack's line is the best place for him to figure it out though. It'll only get harder on a line with players who don't make as much space for themselves or their teammates. He should hopefully start cashing in soon.
  6. I think it tends to be worth it if it allows you to enjoy the game more. Hobbies are supposed to be fun, right?
  7. Where Sabres twitter gets horny for hockey
  8. It's going to depend on what they want from that 4th line. Sheary seems to be worse defensively in more sheltered minutes than Erod, so Erod could theoretically pull a Sobotka and earn that spot by allowing his teammates more freedom to create offense despite not contributing himself on the score sheet.
  9. It's amazing what the stiffness and a good heel lock will let you get away with in terms of ankle freedom. It really makes for a more efficient stride.
  10. You'd think it's Botterill, not the fans, who are still shellshocked from the 06 ECF lol
  11. It's going to be tough to compare given how they want you to lace skates now. I think the old Vapors could get away with a snug fit all the way to the top eyelet but modern boots seem to want you to leave them pretty loose at the top and allow the lower part of the boot to keep your heel locked. I know a lot of NHL guys leave one or two sets of eyelets unlaced now as long as their heel isn't moving around. I couldn't imagine doing that, but I do know that I lace the upper eyelets on my Ribcors a lot looser than I used to on my old Vapors.
  12. I have narrow heels too and always liked the Vapor for that reason. There's not really anything in the CCM line that compares. The Ribor's heel is a little less narrow but works for me. The Jetspeeds might work. Tacks were a no-go for the same reason as the Supremes.
  13. What CCMs did you get to replace the Vapors? What don't you like about the CCMs? I went from Vapors to Supremes (which I hated) to CCM Ribcors (which I love). The toughest thing with modern skates is how stiff the boot has gotten. It's a lot easier to mess up the fit and feel like you're fighting the skate with the stiffer boots.
  14. Pfft I beat you to it by 2 months.
  15. That was a great article and it's the kind of stuff I'm really fascinated with as an extremely average beer league player who needs to be as good as possible while being as out of shape as possible. Getting my skates dialed in made a huge difference for me so I can't even imagine what it is like for good players to suddenly have the right setup on their feet. They've made it to the NHL wearing skates that don't fit right, blades that aren't profiled or sharpened right.
  16. I think he stays there for the foreseeable future.
  17. The whole point of trading for Montour was to get someone on an RFA deal which gives the team more leverage. They aren't going to trade him because he's an RFA.
  18. Better than a turdburger.
  19. A whole bunch of stuff got bought and broadcast rights changed.
  20. Listening on the radio, sounds like a pretty even, if not boring, period of hockey.
