  1. I thought I heard somewhere that spacehog was getting back together. Not sure that means anything though...

I think I also heard this. Wiki confirms that they might be working on an album.

It was rumored for a while that the singer of Spacehog was going to be the new Velvet Revolver lead man, but that has been denied by VR.

  2. I can't believe I'm saying this, but does anyone miss 90's rock? Man, I'm starting to feel old. I miss the old Goo. Sure, I'm still a fan of them, but I wish they'd go back to "A Boy Named Goo" style of music. "Name" changed the group completely, and it paved the road to "Dizzy Up the Girl."

I am a child of 90's rock, so for me there is nothing better. I swear to god there is no alt rock song from the 90s that I don't know, I think I've literally heard it all.

This is the first song I can remember hearing on the radio in the 90s. I was 8 (I know right?) and it was all down hill for me from there. B-)

About 4 years ago I went on a search to rediscover a lot of 90s music that I remembered but had no idea who did it or what it was. It was quite an adventure. A couple gems including:

  3. You'll probably enjoy this one too then, unfortunately it's on an earlier album of theirs.

Remember the days when everyone held up their lighters? Now it's freaking cell phones  If I ever had a singer in any of my bands like this I might still be playing.

Really powerful singers are definitely hard to come across. The best live signing performance I've ever heard was Disturbed, man does that guy have some pipes on him.

Youtube videos just don't do it justice.

  4. The marimba player who only plays on the up beats definitely has the hardest part.

On another more horrifying note(pun intended), this song has been running through my head ALL DAY.

The true spirit of this thread. My god, what was that?

And just so I'm playing by the rules:

  5. You really have come in to your own. I enjoy your opinions. That is my anticomplaint.

    daww thanks! (i think  )

Well, what can I say? That's why this thread is called "Complaint Thursday". It's a free-for-all.

A few weeks ago, someone other than me complained about Gov. David Patterson. I may be the sore thumb sometimes, but there are others who either fly under the radar or get a pass.

I remember the Gov. Patterson comment, but it went relatively un-discussed and most aren't repeat offenders when it comes to posting things that may touch a nerve. Your posts have a special way of getting to people, I am sorry to say.

I don't know. Next to "nothing"?

 "how much noise do you make?" "NOTHING!"

Actually I bet Jerry Seinfeld's high pitched whining probably touches some sensitive frequency in sleeping humans, similar to a dog whistle. They can't help but run wildly to the phone, slobbering all over, to file a noise complaint.

  6. I can't stand these guys either. I just don't see what makes them so great. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ImrtZRrS70w

The greatness of Motorhead really has to do with how they were the key transition between classic rock and modern rock. If it weren't for Motorhead we would never have had metal, grunge, or punk. They're an icon because they were a musical catalyst.

And because Lemmy Kilmister has the world's best facial hair. :D

  7. My complaint is that as much as I want to like the guy, Crosschecking still doesn't get that politics and religion are issues that are best left unmentioned in the world of the internet. I'm a member of a few boards where the mods try to keep it mature, and if there's two things that makes forums turn to sh*t shows, it's politics and religion. Grown men, who could be best internet pals, posting in fits of rage, slinging insults at one another.

Here's the way I see it: If you can't post with out mentioning either of the two, then don't post at all. Because there is no way either topic can be discussed in a mature manner, anywhere on the internet, because someone will always be offended or take it too seriously.

  8. So technically he'd still be paying for the coffee.

Sure, but it's the principle of the matter.

Ha... one meeting later and now our health insurance is going up. Ten minutes earlier, in the same meeting, the said that we made record profits this quarter..... but our health costs are going up? They went on to tell us we need to exercise more because they're worried about our health. Translated? Stop costing us money!

Gotta love it. The place I was working at before I went back to school was turning profit like no one's business, but because their sister companies weren't doing well, it cost everyone at this place their year end bonus, even though they had been working their off and more than quadrupled their production rates. Hard work doesn't always pay off unfortunately, and it hurts everyone except the guys telling you you won't be getting a bonus this year.

  9. The nickel and diming here at work... we've had this swamp water coffee machine for years, but it was free. We got a fancy new one today, with a "50 cents per 7 oz cup" slot. Starbucks is cheaper than that!

No one should ever have to pay for coffee at work.

Bring in your own and put it next to that one. BYO grounds.

  10. But it was his boyhood dream to.... ahh Fug it.

At that price tag, he is a waste of cap space.

Would you take him back in 11-12 at the age of 36 for 5 mil? Or as a FA in the summer of 2012 for under 4 providing he isn't retired or completely broken down? I don't think he'll retire before 40, and he'll want to do it with the Rangers, so he'd probably take a huge pay cut to do it.

  11. My complaint is.... boyfriends and gift giving.

So we talked about giving each other something to "celebrate" the three month anniversary (yeah, 3 month's long time at my age).

So the day comes and he hands me this long box (yes girls, like a jewelry box) so I'm thinking nice bracelet or watch? Nope. Sonofabitch gives me car wash tickets. Carwashfukintickets? Are you serious? That's like getting lock de-icer for your car for Christmas. WTF?

I stood there looking like it was my childhood hamster in the box and it's not breathing. He was done. His present? Metallica tickets. Yeah, those are mine now.

Aren't Metallica tickets a little expensive for a three month anniversary gift? I think your expectations are a little high. If you talked about getting each other a little something, you probably should have been a little more clear on the price-tag.

So we're goin' to Metallica now right? Parking's on me.

  12. Has anyone ever done that without being completely stoned? No wonder you've got nothing to complain about.

I don't smoke pot. Not allowed to if I ever want to get a job in the next two years.

I simply enjoy playing it. It's a great way to get outside, get some sun, and get some exercise. Took my friend with me today and got her a starter set of discs. She did pretty well, and I played my best game ever, 10 throws under my normal score.

  13. The more I learn about medical personnel, the less I want to know about medical personnel.

Amen to that. I didn't even want to go to the hospital when I dislocated my knee cap. I definitely don't think I'd want to go if I were ever severely sick. Sometimes I swear they don't know any more than we do.

  14. Portion sizes.

I bought a "medium" combo meal at Wendy's. I could barely carry the bucket-sized drink they gave me.

(And to complain about exactly the opposite, the drink was gone in no time. It was full to the cap with ice, and there couldn't have been more than 8 oz of soda in there)

You know what else has sizes that are completely off? Movie theaters. Since when is a medium coke a liter sized cup, and since when is a medium popcorn the size of my damn head?

  15. Well, buy a new bike then!

I think I'm gonna build one. Went to a few bike shops in the area and they all told me the same thing: my bike is too old to put money into, and it's too small for me anyways. But they all want $400 and up for anything mid range that is new, so I think I'm gonna put one together on my own. Another project.
