  1. They want to come here for professional reasons; they don't want to be here.
  2. You don't sign someone to a huge contract based on the idea he is locked to one player's hip and that combo is always going to work. How many coaches have to put Skinner in the doghouse to realize he's the problem? Just score a goal once in a while, eh?
  3. I'm really sorry about the sparkler incident. At least I didn't light it up before sticking it up my butt.
  4. Jeff. We are starting to agree on things.
  5. Better than a Shoe Chuck (easily dodged by W.).
  6. They haven't been mistreated. It's hockey chat and they give as good as they get. If Radar wants to leave after getting scolded for saying a fellow fan is rooting for the team to fail, that's on him.
  7. I'm going with the 12th between 10:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
  8. Nice strawman there.
  9. It was. I'm sure it was only a slight scratch into his hockey acumen. I hope we hear more stuff like that. Coaches shouldn't dumb everything down for the media and fans.
  10. Not sure who's the Razor of SabreSpace, LGR or me.
  11. That rising tide lifts allllll boats, especially my dinghy.
  12. Sure he did. And he impressed everyone here with his talk. Especially the story about coming into town and visiting bars on the down low. Coaches are smart to try and get the fans on their side.
  13. Only if you post your shirtless pics. Like you can figure out how to do that.
  14. You won't have the cone on for long.
  15. Is it a moot point? Has Eichel sounded like he wants to return? I think the importance of finding out from Adams if he talked to Eichel was that perhaps the coach hire softened his stance and maybe the relationship was warming back up. At least they'd be talkin'.
  16. True. I haven't had that feeling for a long time. Even when they had that winning streak, as soon as they tailed off, the GM sat on his hands. If Granato, Adams and Karmanos can rid the franchise of this notion that "just" making the playoffs is a sin that endangers some future dynasty, perhaps they will save us all.
  17. There's not a lot of information that jumps out at you. You expect to see Mayo Clinic, healthline, webMD etc. when you google search. I'm sorry your situation was so terrible. But thanks for being so honest about it. It's a good reminder that one's vague symptom isn't always (or ever) the condition that comes up when you do some research online.
  18. Cutting through a lot of the fluff, the one thing Granato said, and has said pretty consistently, is that winning is going to be emphasized. It's not a small change.
  19. And that's all she wrote. These guys are so well-spoken. It's refreshing after Murray and Botterill. Will it mean anything in the long-term? We'll see. Back to you, Jim.
  20. Adams: I knew Don when I got this job (GM). "As we had more conversations when he was an assistant, certain characteristics stood out." DG reset the focus of our players, changed mindsets. Pretty clear Adams' mind was made up before the "search," which Adams now admits was "selfish." Adams: "Natural pressure points (for trades; draft, deadline day)." "I'm looking at anything and everything." "We have to fix" the team. Won't feel pressure to make a trade at the draft for optics-sake.
  21. DG does his best DR: "Continual improvement."
  22. DG: We talked about winning right away. "You can chase one win, chase analytics and correct one thing." You'll hit that threshhold and win more. Coaches set the narrative. Experience in starting franchises and stepping into existing ones. "This game when it's played right is entertaining. We're going to play to win, but in that process you have to be entertaining." Passion, compete: entertainment.
  23. DG: Coaches can't be dictators anymore. It's more about influence.
