  1. Sending him back to Seattle does him little good and yes, Ra-cha-cha would be better for his development. But, until the NHL & CHL rework their transfer agreement then 18 yo's like Mrtka & 19 yo's too will have 2 options - stay in the NHL or play in the CHL. The AHL isn't an option, though with the most recent MOU to the CBA, the league and players agreed that it's in both their best interests to have the NHL try to get it modified for 19 yo's at least. EDIT: The general concept holds, but Mrtka apparently isn't caught up by the NHL-CHL agreement.
  2. Personally, expect he'll pass him on the depth chart (if he hasn't already) but that unless they have 2 injuries on D they'd rather have him in Ra-cha-cha playing so expect he'll go down rather than Bryson if they keep 8 up on the big roster. He is still waiver exempt to be sent down. So, unless they're on an extended road trip doubt he's up if he isn't in the top 6. But interestingly Puckpedia has him listed as being an Amerk right now. Pretty sure that's incorrect as they're also showing Γ–stlund and Georgiev as Amerks already too.
  3. Kulich has an injury that was supposed to just be a day or 2 thing IIHC.
  4. Lescyshyn and Kozak still up with the big boys. Figured Geersen would still be up. Didn't expect the other 2. 3 goalies still up too. (That not surprising considering Luukkonnen hasn't played yet.) Also Γ–stlund and Dunne still up. Figured Dunne would still be there. Didn't expect Γ–stlund.
  5. Winning faceoffs on the PP does help them avoid their stupid 80' drop pass. Which is a good thing. But maybe Appert did learn something. they did not use the 80'+ drop pass on any of the 3 entries they've attempted this PP after clears. And they actually got into the zone with control 2 of the 3 times. Didn't get any more shots after the 1st flurry, but that wasn't because they couldn't get control back in the zone. That was just on poor shot selection.
  6. Don't break Norris today. At least he hopped right back up. Sabres going to the PP.
  7. Not sure what you're trying to argue. The Sabres ran their #1 PP unit. Against C-bus, they ran their #1 unit minus Tuch. They now have 1 goal to show for it. Yea.
  8. Cossa's an NHLer? Seider isn't playing, Holl isn't playing, Compher isn't playing. AHL goalie behind ~1/2 of their normal PKers. Sure, they brought their A team.
  9. Well, it went through Tuch. But it seems they are getting used to each other.
  10. Against AHLers, great tonight. Last week, not so much. Expect the Rags to be that kind hubristic?
  11. Norris being a great teammate. He could've scored the goal, but wanted to let Thompson get his 2nd instead. πŸ˜‰
  12. How far behind is your feed? It's easier to do when you're actually at the game. πŸ˜‰ Just sayin'. (No idea how he normally does it.)
  13. ??? Delay of game for Cossa playing the puck outside the trapezoid.
  14. He shouldn't have tried to play the puck to Dahlin. Just cover it and take the FO.
  15. And for very young guys, contracts are 1/3 guaranteed. For old guys with some special circumstances (primarily when the contract is signed) they are 100% guaranteed.
  16. Timmons took a hard spill behind the Detroit net. Lost a bit of an edge as he was getting hit. He popped right up, but he's going to be sore tonight. Could've been a lot worse.
  17. It's 2/3's guaranteed. Should the Sabres decide to buy him out, he gets 2/3's the remaining money over twice the remaining years left on the deal when they buy him out.
  18. Wow, not sure how Detroit didn't score there. Huge scrum in the Sabres crease and Lyon was down facing east-west as the puck went across the crease but somehow Detroit couldn't get a stick on the puck.
  19. Wonder if Mrtka gets the 9 game tryout. If Samuelsson isn't able to go vs the Rags, could definitely see them giving him that look. And have to believe Helenius and Mrtka are pencilled into next year's line up (though obviously a lot can change between now and then).
  20. Draws don't matter. (Except when they do.) Yeah, even if Thompson and Norris don't have "chemistry" can't see taking Norris off that line simply for his ability to win draws cleanly when they matter.
  21. McLeod robbed by Cossa. (Well sort of, you hit him in the winged wheel and even with 14 extra lbs of muscle you probably aren't putting it through him.) Great pass from along the boards by Tuch to him sending him in clean behind the D.
