  1. Past hour
  2. It was never going to be the case that the Sabres were going to trade Peterka and get the better player in the deal. Teams interested in Peterka were going to be teams trying to get better who were offering pieces that, to them, were expendable and redundant. I'm not saying Kesserling and Doan are bad players, but they aren't what we need to take the step towards being a playoff team this year. Kesserling, who I assume is seen as the long sought after partner for Owen Power, is 25 years old and has played 156 NHL regular season games and no playoff games. Bernard-Docker is the only d-man on our current NHL roster, who has played fewer NHL games. I expect a similar trade with Byram in the next 48 hours. And when that is done, the Sabres will, in the blink of an eye, have gone from being a team that looked like it might be up against the cap after signing their RFAs, to being a team that can easily come in around $88 million, give or take a million.
  3. All those seasons getting excited watching JJ develop thinking h was a future piece to get us back to relevancy... and boom.. once again they rip our hearts out just like Sam, Jack, and others. It is pointless to even get excited about the prospects anymore now knowing they will want out.
  4. Punch in the gut. This is the new rock bottom guys.
  5. The worst part of this deal is I actually do like the players we got back but still feel shafted. This plus a late 1st or a couple 2nds and I feel much less livid.
  6. Here's a sad and crazy thought. What if saving money was actually number two or three on the priority list. When people talk about Adams pinching pennies for Pegula, if almost legitimizes Adams. As if he would be better at his job if not for Terry. The toughest part to swallow is that I think that Adams is really trying and believes in everything he does.
  7. 4th and a prospect for Byram... you heard it here first...
  8. And the farm team continues for the rest of the league, can you all admit it that most players don’t want to play in Buffalo. This is why drafting is key as long as they stop drafting midgets!
  9. To those asking the question is this really all we could get for Peterka? No this was all ADAMS could get for Peterka.
  10. Take home in Utah is about 400k more based on this salary and last years tax rate
  11. We got cremated in this trade. If you get a d man for a top 6 winger, it needs to be an established top pairing d man. What another depressing trade.
  12. Lmao that was exactly what you meant and you know it. I’ve been reading your posts for a decade you have one note to play.
  13. Kesselring feels like the type of player that people have been clamoring for. He fills a need for the Sabres. It's likely his worth to the Sabres specifically is greater than JJ's to the Sabres. However, I still feel like this return is underwhelming unless Doan ends up sticking and not just being a fourth line plug
  14. How on Earth did you get THAT from my post? Voices in your head? I was referencing Sneaky Joe DiBiassi who on his podcast said that Jarmo would nudge a cautious Adams into taking swings.
  15. “Cooler heads have realized we filled the need for a 4th dman by trading a budding young star”
  16. Cooler heads, while recognizing fair value wasn't achieved, say Kesserling fills the RHD top 4 need the Sabres. Doan I guess has some upside too.
  17. This is also hard to fathom. TPegs is a business man. Ice a winning team, and you make money.
  18. I saw that Doan was American I’m assuming there’s a college connection there somewhere Going to work on the fans in thread. Lunch pail day for promo “If the team does bad things, it’s because the fans asked for it!”
  19. Isn't that what everyone said about Jarmo? To get Kev to wheel and deal? Throw caution to the wind? Not be afraid to make a trade? Well...
  20. We would have paid that. He truly did not want to be here. The return sucks bc we weren’t sending him to where he wanted to go. That’s my guess. There were better options but we chose to send him to Utah. I’m not so sure why I’m both mad and intrigued. Most have something to do with having JJ and still being God awful. He doesn’t play anything like playoff hockey will demand. What do I know. I’m a big “you can’t quantify chemistry with analytics” guy. Bye bye JJ. Thank you for your contributions and making everyone around you better.
