  1. Past hour
  2. Who? Moi? Fun fact about Tre. Before my first beer club got poached by some sports broadcaster di#k, I was putting together the orders for my team sweaters Would have been The Dream Warriors, with a Freddie Kruger motif (red/green stripes, derby hat shoulder patches, Fred's face for the chest crest) I had one in the works for Tre Alas, it was not meant to be 🫩
  3. Think the guy deserves a thread at this point. Is he "The Guy" long term? Way too early to tell, but there's a lot to like about him in the few games we've now seen... Good positioning Moves reasonably well laterally Seems to have pretty quick reflexes Strong rebound control Plays aggressively, but not overly so Doesn't seem to get rattled and/or intimidated The team seems to have confidence in him in net and I think it shows in their play in front of him I'm not saying he's the next Hasek or Miller by any stretch, but he's shown enough to me that he should be our guy until he gives a reason not to be. Maybe he's the Sabres' Doug Flutie...just hopefully with a longer shelf life.
  4. Having been in the building (behind the net too) when Georgiev played his way out of Colorado, and seeing how his preseason went this year, just can't see anyone getting desperate enough to want to give him a try. Unless they've already gone through at least 5 goalies, can't see any NHL team even thinking about dialing Adams #.
  5. Well, Det was certainly a test of his mettle IMO In spite of the four goals given up, AND it being a 3 goal deficit, he didn't pout (*cough*cough* UPL) he continued to make important saves and did his part in turning that duster of a 1.5 period team effort into an improbable win Something, I don't recall Uppie accomplishing? If the Blues are THAT pi$$ed about losing him, logic states that he was likely near his end stage of grooming and they had him penciled as near-future netminder? He may not be fully baked but me thinks he's done enough to be "edible"?
  6. We need a desperate team to appear before all our injured/sick players return.
  7. All it takes is an injury or two for teams to get desperate enough.
  8. Heard Elmira might be looking for some help. 😉
  9. And Draisaitl is DEADLY from right there. That was an incredible save. This kid looks like a potential real find. I'm not gonna go too crazy because I've seen countless unknown goalies get inserted and have a nice few/several games then turn into a pumpkin, but RIGHT NOW he's our best goaltender and the attributes are obvious. Hopefully he's a guy we look at a couple months down the road and say "Hey! Helluva job on that one Adams!"
  10. But is he a Facial Hair Enthusiast like Carter?
  11. Well, there's the $5MM/yr question. IF he can continue to play like this, he'll be making at least that in the fairly near future. (Not necessarily on the next contract, but the one after that for sure.) If he can't, he'll be looking at ~$1.5MM/yr on the next contract. Whole lot of reasons besides just getting to continue living the dream for him to figure it out when shooters have him in his least opportune environment.
  12. Stevie Y was on the downslope of his career (season 14) when that group won their first Cup in 1997. With what a great player he was, his career was nothing but frustration for over a decade. By the way, I touched the Cup in Detroit the day they won it. It was on display in downtown Dee Troy It that afternoon.
  13. Well, the fact that we're even having a discussion about teams needing to "figure out" our goalie is great progress 😂
  14. Oh I can track Even if the puck's edges slither and it's more face-shaped vs a disc
  15. I didn't really see a play tonight where knowing the book on a goalie would have helped. I was working out with the game on during the second, so may have missed something. Still, from what I saw, the way they were playing D tonight made it difficult for the Oilers to execute a plan on the goalie.
  16. Personally would say: Quinn, Krebs, then Greenway in that order; but expect Ruff will be popping the kids out of the lineup. But, on this night, they all pulled their weight. As bad as Timmons and Byram looked in Detroit, they were very solid together. The Thompson line got chances. Obviously the 4th line was dominant. Except for losing the puck at the end of a shift that resulted in the odd man rush that ruined Ellis' shutout; Dahlin played very well and he and Samuelsson are finally playing again the way they seemed they would for a long time back when Muel got that seemingly horrible contract. (Looked like it probably would be good overall at the time, but then looked bad ever since he stepped back on the ice; it's finally looking like it might be good when all is said and done again.) The McLeod line played well overall as did the Kozak line. Heck Bryson played well with Power today. And Ellis showed that yes, he was the the correct choice to put between the pipes tonight. Fun game. Don't know why they are so good against the Eulers in this building, but whatever it is, keep it up. And figure out how to show up against Calgary. They've been good at home, they need to keep that up. 6-1-2 at home after looking like they'd never been on skates before taking the ice for the 1st 2 home games.
  17. Still probably a better goalie than Carter Hutton
  18. The replay from the other side made it look that much more impressive. He literally leapt across and if the puck was along the ice it goes in because he was airborne. Did someone say "reconditioning stint"?
  19. A year ago I wouldnt have guessed Rosen would be a contributing NHL player but he's played very well and doesn't look out of place at all.
  20. It's funny because they each got a look or two and didn't seem all that good. This time they clicked. Is this what development looks like?
  21. Only thing I'll say, NHL teams don't have a full book on Ellis and they'll get that sometime soon. Can he adjust when teams figure him out or not?
  22. Being, the historical theft of glory against our beloved Buff teams, we're way overdue for some karmic ROI
  23. I'm at a point I don't want to see them send down for now.
  24. I could never be intentionally dangerous, ever again Detached retinas/maculas do a number on the brain 🫠
