  1. Past hour
  2. It was an over-compensation to the first 3 years of drafting under Adams, where they picked 21 forwards, only 5 d-men, and 1 goalie.
  3. Good day Children of the βš”οΈ Will be watching game in arrears due to house warming & Halloween parties to attend. Boys in Blue need to lowercase the caps. Miniscule Washboards!
  4. By the time all those d men are ready, Dahlin will want out and Byram and Power will have been moved. 4D chess, man.
  5. In 2 years we're gonna have Mrtka, Novikov, Komarov, probably Strbak and Kleber with an outside chance at Osburne and a rando. For forwards, you're getting Helenius Ziemer and maybe someone else like Richard or Wahlberg. There's 12 forwards and only 6 D slots but Adams and company saw the rhd hole and lost their minds. They've spent countless assets to add rhd including Peterka, a 1st, multiple 2nds and 3rd round picks. Meanwhile there is almost no forward help coming and only center is Helenius. Can't wait until 2027 when they catch up to that and suddenly start drafting 6'4" centers with 25pts in the chl in round 2. Also, this isn't a criticism of Mrtka. I do like him.
  6. Forton has the same issue Adams has, they lack imagination and they don't plan the way they should.
  7. And this is not a shot against Forton is a person. I would love to have a beer with him sometime and talk hockey, the problem becomes when he has the most input on Hockey Decisions with Adams.
  8. I can out draft Forton from my couch.
  9. Levi has played more games in the AHL than Ellis. How is he insurance for NHL games but Levi couldn't possibly get a spot start here and there if needed?
  10. Btw before someone lists Benson and Helenius and what not, the Sabres have drafted more defense than forwards. It's like 11 to 9 or something. Taking Bedkowski when Romano was on the board is such a stupid duck up. Edit: Since 2022 it's 10 forwards 11 defenders 4 goalies Remember there's 12 forwards who play and only 6 defenders and the team already has Rasmus Dahlin.
  11. The news of Rosen's recall preceded the news of Benson going to IR. The original post was only about the Rosen recall and had no mention of the Benson IR move (it was merged/updated later), hence the banter on Rosen.
  12. Doesn't matter if it gets you over the finish line. GMs don't do well with asset management across the board.
  13. Agree with all of this. As for Levi, while I don’t blame his camp if they did indeed request a trade, I don’t have a problem with how the Sabres are developing him, with the exception that they initially rushed him to the bigs. Since then, he’s on a good track. I’m struck by the similarities between he and Ryan Miller’s development curve with the Amerks. I think the job is Levi’s for good next year. That said and while I previously thought that they would keep him in the A this season unless disaster struck the Sabres, I won’t be surprised in the least if they bring him up sooner. He’s been too good to ignore in the A since last season.
  14. He's an idiot. His crusade to draft rhd is bizarre at best. Gonna be HILARIOUS when they end up drafting a D at 11 this year with Klepov on board. Sure he's a winger but good God have they just not drafted forwards since 2022.
  15. Living in Pittsburgh? I thought you were in Lewiston. NOTE: If you scoreboard watch until January you might miss the season.
  16. Good thing Lindy has last change - that third line could get crushed.
  17. Today
  18. Benson seemed to slow down the last few games, the effort was there but the burst was not. Hope he comes back strong. That is hockey, so now it is time for Isak Rosen to get a look. Hey All, Hockey DB has a new picture and updated data on Rosen. He is now listed at 6'0 tall and 185 lbs - proof that these kids keep growing after the draft. I think he has listed at 5'10 and 160 pounds at one time. In addition his skin cleared up and his beard is coming in. He looks much more mature than my past memory of his picture. He also has 5 goals and 12 points in 8 games so far. Maybe, just maybe, he will show something on this call up. I am rooting for him!
  19. He has the coolest name. By far. Of anyone on the entire roster. Maybe the entire active league. Ruff made sure Geertsen was on the roster with a 2-year contract and in the opening night lineup... and can't even get dressed against Tom Wilson.
  20. Meh, I was seeing 45-60$ for uppers (before fees) usually one of the secondary market apps. They may have come down. But for Utah I was seeing seats as low as 17$ I like to try and get 200 level seats and they're priced much better on a week night than a Friday or Saturday evening.
