Agreed. But injuries forced Joki to play in top 4 more often than not. And his $4m AAV was a hinderance for a guy playing PK when not suited, and not getting time on PP, bc he was behind Ras, power and Byram. Kesselring and Docker offer balanced pairings and can play a much better complimentary game up and down the line up.

And a small one with o ability Meaning offensive ability

71st overall, David Bedkowski 6'4.5" 221lb RHD

D is the focus so far when you project 2-3 years forward and what current players on D may still be here. Pipeline plan and I get it. Trade for forwards who can play now. -
He's a defender but a left handed one

Adams has right shot D on the brain

Oh very different for sure. I have no issues with Bedkowski. It's not an either or I'd have been fine with both given where we picked. I don't like Timmins. Montreal made the big move in the second round. I'd bet Philly had their sights set on the Russian but Montreal jumped them and snagged him. Montreal has a Russian scout. That's probably a smart organizational move for them. I see him as the potential second round steal. -
Then they need to pick up a few NHL players that can play right now and throw'em. This kid is years away.

Last center drafters I googled and stop reading when it said: perimeter player who projects to be a middle six forward at the NCAA level. Possibly a priority college free agent signing. I need a life. Actually I’m sick and have nothing better to do. I expect one of 7th to be drafted with, 1 to be traded for a 2026 7th and one to be be traded for Robertson (joking)

2025 NHL Entry Draft Thread, Sabres Draft 9th
PerreaultForever replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
I'm on a delay. Currently in round 4. I'm on the west coast and sleep in. So I'm only talking about rounds 1-3 in that regard. -
I like Murtagh, visaghi, and gard a lot. All good picks that Buffalo couldn't have made anyways. Didn't make them
-
@LGR4GMwhere are the rest of the pick threads?
-
Nesbitt is over drafted. That pick will age like milk. Martone isn't any more physical than Mrtka. Amico is like Bedkowski, big mean rhd.
-
I don't think kettles is a better version of Bedkowski

Look at their picks. -
Thats all the Sabres have been doing - drafting big and nasty. The two guys from Utah are also nasty. You’ve been camping or something without internet the last 3 days??

What is the Sabres internal CAP# for the 2025-26 season
PerreaultForever replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
I don't see us spending a ton in free agency so unless something big still happens we will be well below the cap. I suppose he might dump a pile of cash at Byram and keep him but we still won't spend to the cap. -
How is Philly better or meaner based on their moves.

PerreaultForever replied to LGR4GM's topic in The Aud Club
Yes Philly did, but in this draft it's all size and meanness. I have seen the D moves but I think Clifton was overly maligned in a bad system, I don't like Timmins he's worse than Jokiharju was. Kesselring I like, but I do not think he's as good as some here think either. We still have Samuelsson and imo the D isn't all that much better and is still dependent on Power being better. Which might happen, but might not. The draft picks are all way down the road guys. -

But round 3. Lesser version. I hope he works out and develops into an NHL player but he's going to take years to get there. I don't like this trade. I think Kettles will be better than Timmins (for example).
