Johnson and Rosén are the conspicuous ones missing. But... both had good showings in the scrimmage, so they're getting an extra look with the top squad next game, perhaps. Patience! Soon you will be with him we will be eliminated.

Are the Sabres eliminated yet?

The only real change that they'd need to do to work that is bump Krebs off PP2 (PP3?) and put Wahlberg there. Follow up with either the Krebs line or the Kozak line and the Russians and no issues with lines getting juggled. And it's not like Krebs is going to get a legit look at the PP early in the season anyhow unless they have a lot of injuries.

Now, this is what preseason is for. The Sabres should've sent the tall squad to Columbus, then for the next CBJ matchup ice the small squad. Any self-respecting coach should've seen the potential. Cool. Was trying to figure out why with UPL not available for however long, it was pretty much all of the bubble F's and G's but rather than going with the bubble D, they were going with 3 of the top 4 D and the 2 Russian Amerks plus Mrtka. But, wanting to run PP2 makes it make sense. Will be interesting to see how Mrtka handles himself going against a fair %age of NHLers. (Presuming C-bus's squad will be heavier on actual NHLers tonight than it will be tomorrow in Buf'lo.)

I don't like it as a tactic, I do if it's serendipity.

On Baker and Fairburn Hockey Show they mentioned the PP might be composed of the regular lines to help prevent the disruption of the game when the PP is over. Not sure I agree with that line of thinking

The Sabres PP2 (PP1 tonight) is a very interesting mix to me. Power, Quinn and Kulich lining up in their best roles, I've seen each be outstanding in those spots at lower levels. Byram as the bumper is odd on the surface, but given his skillset it might be inspired. Really curious to see how he does there. And given a chance to grow, Doan could be an answer for a long-time at netfront.
