Dahlin is taking a leave of absence to return to Sweden

Dahlin is training with Frolunda while in Sweden -
I don't agree. If he gets injured or when, yea that hurts your team. You know what else hurts your team? Trading him for a 2nd rounder and looking for some other mythical center. Now if you can trade him for a legit package including a good young forward prospect and a 1st, then maybe. It's not beneficial at all to just dump him.
-
It is also the last year Norris lacks trade protection. I agree they need to trade him this season.
- Today

Injuries are on defense problems are all offense yes early on there were problems on defense then McDermott started making calls but there’s no equivalent savior for the offense its not a fair cover up like I’d argue it is for the Sabres
-
Said as much when we first got him but whatever. If they are thinking this rebuild has failed and there will be a new GM, coach, etc etc. and there's a partial tear down coming, this is the perfect time to trade Power. He hasn't been in the league long enough for other GMs to think he's a bust and most will think "it's Buffalo" and they will believe they can turn him into something better (which maybe they can but who knows). That window of optimism on his ceiling will close soon.

The attempt by my roster has left us scarred and deformed, but I assure you my resolve has never been stronger.

Almost time to think about Gavin McKenna?

I imagine Adams leads his call with Pegula early this week: Despite the injuries and taxes, we're just one win shy of .500. -
What I’m trying to say is there is a very, real scenario where there’s no perfect option. A very real scenario where bending on “BPA” is the best option. You can’t just adhere to the parameters blindly that aren’t getting you anywhere. It would be delusional to think the perfect trade exists and in the same vein foolish to rule out the idea we may need to squint at the margins a bit to ensure we draft a high potential F yes, maybe the guy you take is a 88/100 on your board and you have a dman at 90/100 but the handcuff your self impose by prioritizing the extra 2/100 would in fact be more detrimental the sabres are GOING to take a hit in the trade, if they can even make one. You can’t pie in the sky the reality if you actually care about the results. Would absolutely make sense to consider you may lose less value simply by “reaching” for a F. You can’t pretend all else is equal in terms of being able to recoup the value later if you naively adhered to hardline drafting rules. BPA works in theory. The theory doesn’t amount to anything if you allow the randomness of the system to supersede your ability to build a team. It’s no good allowing randomness and luck in combination with your self imposed rigidity to result in a scenario where you simply don’t ever come away with the F. It would be more beneficial to relax on some of the rigidity and take your chances with a forward: the scenario where you continually take a D and “worry about the rest later” doesn’t maximize the assets either: that’s the myth

If history suggests they won’t trade the pick it hammers home the idea we won’t be able to trade the guy the fans don’t want anymore for the player they couldn’t draft. They won’t draft a D and then trade a D we already have for the forward we actually wanted to draft, complete pipe dream if they want the good young F they’ll need to make the selection for that player or use the pick in a swap for such. The player we’ve already driven off the lot with the flaws exposed isn’t going to get a player without massive question marks. We don’t need another Norris

I’ve read all the posts here and on TBD, spoken with peers at work, friends locally, spent a couple hrs speaking with friends from other fan bases I’ve worked with or just met and we became friends. After today’s performance and given the now track record of consistent failures, every one I spoke with today stated straight out fire the GM and coaching staff, bring in those who would get Josh and the Bills over the top. And they all said do it now, don’t wait, the clock on Josh is ticking, to much time has been wasted already. Whether you agree or disagree, many people are now saying the same thing, a change is needed immediately.

They need to fire him and find someone that can get it done

Sure I'm up for trading the pick but if we can learn anything from the Sabres history, that isn't going to happen. I would also have no issue taking a Dman and trading away a guy like Power to help the forward group lots of ways to peel an onion -

With this 6th goal and 11th point in 15, here is another example of a teenager not being to help his team win -
“Likely” remains a drastic improvement on the current “certainly”, and the canning of Adams is worth it on its face even if no improvement is gained due to the simple fact he objectively deserves to be fired and it expresses an modicum of accountability- by far the largest weakness of the team/franchise there is zero argument for not firing Adams today. There is only an argument it might not work. Those aren’t the same thing Also, as a fan, it would be ridiculously hubristic for me to suggest I am one of one. I would gain an immense amount of satisfaction from Adams being canned simply because I don’t like him and what he’s done to the team - there’s no way I am the only one that feels that way. He traded my favourite player away for job security and I maintained it was a mistake at the time amidst opposing voices and that’s only been borne out more true over time. Justice is valuable in and of itself and if we lose that there’s no point to anything. Adams being fired is as much about wanting to see it just to see it as it is about improving the team - I think people miss that a bit hockey is an entertainment product, like film. I am no longer entertained by what this director has to offer and I’d like to see someone else’s interpretation of how to field a team under Terry terrible owner Pegula. I don’t watch sabres games right now. I will watch if Adams is canned. I’m not one of one

This has me thinking about forwards and our ability to attain them and I think it would be extremely beneficial to trade Norris right now for a draft pick or something, this would be a case where we’d severely be talking addition by subtraction I think. If he’s on the roster at all next year you know he’s going to factor into top 6 C plans especially due to contract and that just can’t happen. I’d take the hole, outright. If the baby is allowed to keep the scissors here to play with bad things are going to happen. The threat of Norris needs to be alleviated
-
Wow. You win the nerd award for that one. I don't actually care about firing Adams unless I know who is hired and if there's a change in direction or not. Let's just say Terry fires Adams but all he does is make Jarmo GM, move Ruff to Senior Advisor and name Appert head coach, well then the Titanic is likely still heading straight for the iceberg.

No, I'm just saying it's a desperation play no matter when you pull the goalie and their odds of getting it done in 1 minute are slim to none so why not 2 or 3 minutes? It's a hail Mary and likely won't matter anyway, but not pulling the goalie isn't going to work either so whatever. They always lack urgency and they lose puck battles. That's all 60 minutes as a whole. For years. 6 on 5 requires that urgency, physicality, and being desperate on every single puck battle. You don't get to be pretty with 6 on 5. -
Hopefully whoever the GM is once spring starts is able to find a way to make a F (prefer a C by far) happen with the pick. They certainly can’t just go up there and take another D man imo
-
I know it is still early in the season, but this point leader board ... 🙃 back-to-back #1 OA running #1 and #3 in scoring ... and our old pal Jack, hangin' in there at 5

Tynan Lawrence is pretty solid. He's young for the class but he's interesting. He just got back from injury. Until Adams is gone, I don't trust trades.
-
Or the pick itself by trading it now or later Mystery box retains the most value these “just trade someone else to fill the void” theories never actually happen if they want a high end young F they’ll need to use the pick, one way or another
