At his best Greenway is a low-end Jochen Hecht. If he is in the top 6 and he is healthy, engaged, and playing well, he can let a couple of offensive line-mates cook. 

Ruff’s track record for over a decade now, clearly demonstrates that he is in the lower end of current NHL head coaches. Of all the issues with Ruff’s coaching, this doesn’t register for me.

Probably. But Ruff changes lines frequently. It might click for a game or two and if it doesn’t he will change them again.

Maybe I wasn't clear. Greenway typically fails to meet fan expectations for a player of his size and physical capabilities.  He is expected to be tough and physical, and a willing combatant.  It just isn't in his nature to bring that every night.

Wilson was a highly touted 1st round pick.  His ceiling was always a 1st line player.

Was he? I guess I've forgotten that. His early years were just about violence though. His scoring didn't come in until later. But I admit I've forgotten his draft status.

Well that's good, Buffalo is such a position right now that using 2-3 games to figure out Greenway on the top line can't work long term won't really change much.
