2 things.

1. I did specify hockey ops
2. Even outside of hockey ops, reconstituting somebody like Adams, who failed so hard at his job is a decision that solidifies the idea that they haven't taken a complete honest inventory of the situation.

At that point Adams might as well be blood related and actually be a nepo baby. Because Adams has next to no value add to the org in any capacity outside of likability to Terrance Pegula. And having guys around that Terrance likes vs who is doing a good job is exactly how we got here in the first place.

Adams history with Pegula as a lowly video guy who got to chirp in the owners ear makes it impossible to keep him around.

There's no world where keeping Adams in the building is a good idea.

ZERO.

I agree.

Kevyn is out, the only concern is he moved into another job, which would not be a smart move.

He will not touch Beane and McD.   They will be accountable for the teams record and they will also have a plan on how to improve.  Terry will concur, which is the smart move for him.

That would be my fear. Adams gets moved into some sort of advisory label and Jarmo becomes interim GM and that's the public optic, but in reality it'll still be the same people in committee style meetings with Terry still voicing opinions.

As far as the bills goes I don't follow them closely enough but I doubt they fire anybody. Not yet anyway.

Can't see Adams being brought back, but prior to the start of last season couldn't see any way a year as bad as last year would have him back this year.  Sooo ...

And couldn't see a way that when Granato got canned, he'd be the only one losing a job with only Ellis getting a demotion out of the entire rest of the coaching staff.  Sooooo ...

Until Adams is gone, am not expecting it.  Will hope for it, but won't expect it.  The one thing we have going for us this time versus the past 2 seasons is Kevyn isn't under contract for next year (at present).  MAYBE that's the thing Pegula was waiting for prior to making a significant move?

That's our hope. He won't fire his super-yes-man and friend. But maybe he will just not re-sign him.

Meanwhile, there's no plan beyond "wait for Power to reach age 25" so that he becomes good defensively with a chEEEap coaching staff, and everyone will be happy to be here.

Logically, there is no reason to bring him back.  BUT there was logically no reason to bring him back this season, and it still happened.

Logically, there was no way Granato's entire staff should've been employed after he was out of a job.  BUT none of them got canned.

Dropped the word "logically" from that 1st sentence.  Thought it was implied.  Guess not.  (Though it was unwritten, it seems you didn't read it.  😉 )

I guess “I can’t see Adams being brought back” read to me as more of a prediction than an opinion of what you would do

If Kevyn Adams is promoted, I may just give up my Sabres fan card.  You don’t spend 5+ years as one of the worst GM’s in NHL history, only to get promoted.   That is the definition of insanity.  😡

Everything is proceeding as Sheevyn has foreseen.

Jarmo to GM. Adams to POHO. Ruff to Senior Advisor. Appert to HC.

The question then is: does Jarmo have enough clout (or just patience) to enact his vision and trades without having to simply do as Adams/Pegula want? Will he storm out Lafontaine-style or will he rebel Boterill-style and get fired for not listening? And how soon can he turn this return gig with a dysfunctional leadership into a stable, real GM job on another franchise?

I think what you say is exactly what happens... he simply shuffles this incestuous cesspool of dystfunction... and players start to walk...

The bolded is not what I would want and would be disappointing.  But, right now I would probably take it, so long as:

1.) Appert was named HC on an interim basis, so that Kekalainen can bring in his own guy at year's end (if Appert doesn't pull off a miracle); and

2.) A new assistant is brought in to coach the power play.

Kekalainen might make an impactful trade or two.  Appert might relate better to the players on the team and adjust the system, as Granato did when he replaced Krueger, to match the skills of the players.  A new assistant coach might ignite the PP. I'm reaching here.

That it might not be better isn’t a salient argument for not canning Adams
