I'd probably list the Sabres targets in no particular order as Martin, Mrtka, Smith, Bear, Carbonneau, O'Brien, Lakovic and McQueen. I think they'll shy away from Eklund and the rest of Hagens, Misa, Martone, Desnoyer, Frondell, Schaefer will be long gone.

I see no way Martin is there at 9

"Every meeting is usually the same, they ask the exact same questions.".  Carter Bear.

How dare KA and Pegula talk about Penn State and not just keep it like Bear's experience.  Scumbags.  Am I doing this right?

Highly unlikely (he's there at 9) at this stage. I question his overall skill set but a 25g, 25a guy who hits everything isn't bad at all. Or he's gonna continue to improve his skills and he's actually a 35g, 45a wrecking ball. Or... he ends up a 3rd/4th line roll player with heavy hits.

Clarity. I'm agreeing with Flash

Do you think Byram and #9 is enough to move to #3 with a Chicago trade?  Would you?

Do you think Peterka and #9 is enough to move to #2 with SJ?  Would you?

IMO, Misa would be my target with these trades.

When are we ever going to get serious about winning? Can’t trade established players for draft picks anymore. Need to be bringing in legit NHL contributors.

Idk. The last trade like that was... 2008 I think. No idea the values involved.

I can say the rumor mill says we could see a trade amongst the top 3. Islanders want Hagens,  Sharks want Schaefer,  and Hawks want Misa.

Misa is probably NHL ready. If that's who you get.

But it’s just the Buffalo hamster wheel all over again. Add another 18 year old to a lineup that’s not good enough to compete. We’ve seen this movie for 14 years and we know how it ends.

Wasn't necessarily advocating for it. I'm just unsure the cost.

Unfortunately, it never ends.

I know but you also say you don't want to run it back, so there's that.  Changes are needed.  I don't want to keep getting younger either but I also don't want to hate doing that so much that I stupidly do it.  Meaning if you have a conviction for a prospect like Misa, trade a piece to get it.  I have a feeling Misa is going to be special.

It's a strange phenomenon.  Most fans are so pissed they hate mostly everything about the team, then we talk about trading players and we don't want to let go of anyone.

Fair enough. I don’t mind getting rid of guys but I want 23-30 year old guys coming back that can have immediate impacts.

Misa and Schaefer will be very good players. I don’t think those deals you proposed get you them.

I just don't want to be so wrapped up in disappointment that I can't comprehend good moves and that's what's happened hear, IMO.

I'll give you one example. Fans hated Mitts for most of his time.  He shines through a little, and I mean a little and KA is trading away "our best forward .  I know you read that too. Conversely, If we signed him then - right now we would be killing KA for giving him 5.75 for 40 pts.

We can't hate on that, so we switch to KA screwed us by getting Byram for Mitts and we'll lose him and he knew he wasn't a fit, blah blah blah.

We have the better piece in Byram, period.  Byram played better than Mitts last year, period.  Can't we see what he nets us before getting nuts?  If that's Misa, we won huge, IMO.

The question with Carbonneau is translatability of his game. He has a tendency to stop scanning and go full McDavid where he plans to deke and skates through everyone. That does not work at the NHL level very often. He'll need to pick his spots better and use his passing and off puck game more. If he can, all those soft skills will be that much more useful.
